This Sunday’s Car Boot Sale here at the showground will be a particularly special one, held in memory of our much-loved friend and volunteer, Jan Robey.

As we recently shared, Jan sadly passed away last month, just weeks after once again giving her time to help at our Shropshire County Show.

Jan’s friends Jane and Ryan Jervis, who manage our Car Boot Sale, have decided that all proceeds and takings from this Sunday will be donated to Severn Hospice in Jan’s honour.

The team at Severn Hospice in Bicton Heath provided Jan and her family with outstanding care and support during her final days, and we hope Sunday will be a fitting way to remember Jan while raising funds for such an important local charity.

Everyone at the showground and the Shropshire & West Midlands Agricultural Society is proud to support Jane and Ryan’s wonderful gesture in memory of a very special friend and volunteer.

Whether you’re buying, selling or simply coming along to show your support, we’d love to see you this Sunday. ❤️

We love that our showground is so versatile. One week we are hosting an agricultural show, then a car boot sale, then a half-marathon...

And then, on August bank holiday weekend we become the home of Shrewsbury Folk Festival!

📣 Save the date!

One of Shropshire's favourite autumn events is returning!

The West Midlands Agricultural Society Charity Bonfire & Firework Spectacular is back on Saturday 7th November here at the DMOS People West Mid Showground.

Expect a spectacular evening with a huge bonfire, two fantastic firework displays, a funfair and plenty of family entertainment.

This year we'll once again be holding:

🎇 A quieter display at 6.15pm - perfect for younger children and those who prefer reduced noise.
🎆 Our main display at 7.45pm.

Big shout out to Tudor Griffiths Group for supplying their every-popular skip seating booths for Woodshrop festival last weekend!

TG group support the showground with skips all year round to help our Rural Charity dispose of waste for recycling. Thanks guys! 😀

It's fair to say there were plenty of smiles at this year's Shropshire County Show, so don't forget to get next year's date in your diary!

The 2027 show will take place on Saturday 22nd May - that's a week earlier than usual so it doesn't clash with the May Bank Holiday as in previous years.

Shropshire County Show is always a wonderful day out when town meets country, and we are already planning a fantastic show for 2027 which is sure to put a smile on your face!
