Hello lovelies! How are you all? It’s been a while since I was last on here posting but I have been popping on over the last few months and seeing all your wonderful weddings finally taking place 😍and seeing a lot of you sharing the beautiful news of the next chapter you are all starting👶🏼congratulations to you all!

As the post suggests I am here with a bit of an update on what is happening with The Bridal Gift Boutique and why I have been MIA. Life has been hectic recently, and at times really really tough. Honestly, if I didn’t have my girls or my hubby I probably would have just stayed in bed most days and shut the world out 😓

I’m going to be completely honest with you guys and I am not the best at being vulnerable but here goes -
With how things have been the last couple of years and how things are going now, we as a family have hit a very difficult financial situation. So I have had to make the gut wrenching decision to hand my notice in on my unit and sell off as much stock as I possibly can and basically start over 💔

So, The Bridal Gift Boutique isn’t going anywhere, I am still here but as of June I will be moved out of my unit space and back home. Back to where it all began. I am so sad that my business has had to take this step, but rather than seeing it as a backwards step I am seeing it as a step that’s needed to propel me forward ❤️

I know I am not alone in this, I know of many other small businesses that are struggling and having to make difficult decisions because they have families to think about. I really have struggled with this for the last 6 months but burying my head was not going to solve anything. I have made peace with things and accepted this is how it was meant to be.
So on Sunday I will be opening up my website with the remainder of my stock to have a clear out because I do not have space at home to hold everything. Everything will be heavily discounted and I would be ever so grateful to you all if you could share with your family or friends the to help me get everything shifted.

Where has this week gone?! And how do we only have a week left of September? It’s insane how quick this year is going.

It has been so lovely catching up with so many of you in my DMs the last couple of days. And to everyone who has been watching my Instagram stories and grabbing themselves some bargain priced gift boxes - THANK YOU!!! 🤍🤍

There are still some left but I will move on to some other clearance items over the next couple of days.
Tomorrow (yes on a Saturday) I will be making as many gift boxes as I can, I have almost 100 to do 😱

❤️❤️LOVE IS NOT CANCELLED❤️❤️

This is me, just before I took the dog for a walk this evening - sporting my Love is not Cancelled hoodie, no make up, hair in disarray BUT I have freshly painted nails (that is my win for today - oh and keeping the little ones entertained).

Today has been tough for so many, weddings have once again been told they cannot go ahead and so people are postponing. We are 5 days in to a new year and already wishing we could start over - this was not in the script for 2021 😭

I asked earlier in my stories how people were feeling after last nights announcement and the words that kept cropping up where ‘deflated’, ‘worried’, ‘upset’, ‘angry’ ‘anxious’.
Remember, you are allowed to feel these feelings, do not hide away from them because you are frightened of upsetting someone else. This is an emotional rollercoaster we are all on. A storm we are all facing together. Be kind to each other. We don’t know everyone personally, and someone who is due to get married 5 months from now may have decided to postpone until next year but your wedding in 3 months you are still holding on to - don’t be angry at the person for postponing. They will have their reasons, which are totally valid for them as a couple

We will get through this together.
And one day soon, you will all get your happily ever after. It may not be the date you originally thought, or with the number of guests you had originally planned but you will eventually get to marry your best friend and begin your life long journey together ❤️

💕GRATITUDE 💕

2020 has been an odd one for all of us.

I have started this new year reflecting on what I am grateful for from last year, despite the hardships I experienced with having a business in the wedding industry.

My top 5;

1) I got to spend 7 whole months with my children at home; laughing, learning and watching them grow.

2) Me & my husband have come out stronger than before, we value each other and work better together as a team.

3) We got our beautiful puppy Charlie, 1 week before lockdown 1.0 and he has been the greatest addition to our family.

4) My eldest daughter had a life changing operation on her legs and has learned how to walk again

5) I have built my business back up from almost nothing (which wouldn’t have been possible without you lovely lot), I have met some amazing bride to be’s and been blessed with an opportunity to work a ‘normal’ job, where I have made some lovely friends 💕

When I look back on all of this, I am so so grateful to 2020 and what it has taught me. It certainly isn’t a year I will forget in a hurry.

2020, what a strange year?!

• The year the world was told to stay apart but yet the closest we have ever been (thank god for all the advances in technology 🙌🏻)
• The year people went mad for toilet roll & pasta
• The year that over 130,000 couples postponed their wedding
• The year micro-weddings became the new norm.
• Zoom parties & quizzes became the highlight of a families week.

In many ways 2020 has brought so much hardship and upset. But it has most certainly be a year to practice gratitude, and take forward what we have learned about ourselves and others.

We are all starting 2021 stronger and much more equipped with knowledge of the expectations that come with Covid-19.
I wish you all so much more happiness and joy throughout 2021 and beyond.
