The Seychelles are everything we hoped for and more. Absolutely stunning beaches (mostly deserted), clear warm Indian Ocean, abundant sealife, easy to get about in our bag of spanners hire car, lovely Air BnB right on the beach and to top it off I discovered Tusker Beer (Kenya’s finest) in the local supermarket!

Recently got into leathercrafting and really loving it. Such a great material to work with and incredibly satisfying. Finished this latest project yesterday - an A5 notebook case for my Morning Pages journal complete with To do list holder and an ink cartridge bandolier. I made this to fit my wonderful new notebook and fountain pen. They are an absolute pleasure to write with, so smooth, and it just makes the enjoyment of doing my even better! They take hours to make, all my own design, but I’m already working on more to sell at and will be available fully loaded with a Simplpens Ventura fountain pen, Simplpens notebook, To Do List pad and four spare ink cartridges.

Our day in 2 minutes - we are staying at this stunning beach house on the Essex coast for a few days for Leanne’s birthday (today!). The days involve beachcombing, chilling, enjoying the views and wildlife (kingfisher diving for fish in the creek today), arty projects and eating well - beef short ribs tonight! Happy birthday my darling! ###

Dotty lobster - a mixed media print of a cooked lobster (just needs some garlic butter!) - using linocut and paint dots. Not sure I have the patience to make more of these but it was a fun distraction while it lasted.

Picked up these beautiful Brooke Bond tea cards from 1974 - ‘The sea our other world’ and made some framed montages from them. Stunning paintings, would love to know where the originals are! Managed to get a few sets of this collection so will be making more and having them for sale in Make Holt soon. Perfect for the thallasophile in your life!
