A busy week ahead , writing and meeting families. When I sit down to write these ceremonies - I am always in awe of the lives people have led and the memories I have the privilege of retelling. So make those memories, do the daft things, take a chance, make them laugh...because one day everyone will want to hear about it.

Just listening to Jeremy Vine discussing a lady who passed away and requested her favourite food “Beef & Tomato Pot Noodle” to be placed in her coffin, then the whole congregation were given a pot noodle to take away….So what would you want in your coffin with you???

Today has been a day for writing ceremonies and was a quiet reminder of why being a celebrant means so much to me.

Holding space for a life to be honoured, stories to be shared, and love to be felt is a real privilege. These moments always bring reflection — on how precious life is and the importance of the connections we make.

A gentle reminder today to live fully, love deeply, and cherish the everyday.

A celebrant, has the privilege of standing with people at their most meaningful milestones — weddings filled with promise, naming days bursting with hope, and farewells wrapped in love and memory. And what I am constantly reminded of is this: life is not measured in years, but in moments.

We rush through life chasing deadlines, ticking boxes, but when we gather to truly honour a life or a love, we are reminded of what matters most — connection, kindness, presence
