Went to my lock up today to drop some race stuff off and other bits lying around the house. I have lots and lots of race medals left over, if anyone would like to take part in a virtual Huddersfield road series and earn some of my medals please get in touch for payment options.

A huge thank you to everyone that took part in the series this year, it has been a tough year with numbers way down on previous years, volunteers being down and my spare time down too.

However we had 4 great races again and lots of happy but tired faces crossed my finish lines. Thank you to Jacek from Timemyrace.co.uk/huddersfield-road-series for doing our timing again this year, chip timing makes my race day so much more enjoyable not having to worry about that. Thank you to my sponsors Gibson Booth, Shepley Spring and ORAGYMS Shepley! Without you we couldn’t raise money for our local sports clubs and schools.

Thank you to everyone that has helped at any of the races, big shout to Jonny Brook for being a huge help at the Colne Valley 10k.

Then of course the biggest round of applause goes to you my runners, I have loved seeing all my regulars again this year and loads of new faces too. We had 2 new winners of the series this year with Jenny Hart taking the female series win and Martin Ingham taking the male 🥇. I hope you enjoy your prizes.

Finally I must say thanks again to you all and as I told some of you at the Shepley 10k, I am taking a year out from my races to give myself a rest from all stress, you just have to have a break some times. I will be back in 2025 with the series and hopefully we can be back with a bang and lots of fresh runners, volunteers, sponsors and a fantastic series medal.

It our final race of the series in just 3 weeks and that all important final medal of the set.

Thursday night is the last chance to enter the Colne Valley 10k before pre entries close. There will be entry on the day at £18 so save yourself £2 and enter before the deadline.

We also need a lot of volunteers for the race to be safe for our runners so if you can help out please get in touch and make me worry less over the next week.

HQ for the race is Leymoor Cricket Club and parking will be local streets so please car share where possible and park responsibly when you arrive.

Don’t forget the new HQ this year is the ORAGYMS, Shepley. We will be doing registration from my van to save on space in the gym. However the gym will be open for toilets etc.

Please park in the moose storage facility next door to the gym to save space for their patrons.

We urgently need at least 5 more volunteers to marshal our course for the Toss O’coin this Sunday, please if you can spare some time get in touch and make lots of people smile.

We offer free race entry to those that do help out too. Big thank yous in advance.

You will be needed from 10am ish until about 12.30pm and the race HQ this year is ORAGYMS above Shepley.

The Toss O’coin race is just 10 days away so please get your entries in if you want that 2nd medal in the set. There will be entries on the day but the more numbers we get in advance the better we can organise things.

This year our HQ will be at ORAGYMS Shepley and the start/finish will be on Piper Wells Lane. Same route but different star location. The guys at ORAGYMS have kindly allowed us access to the toilets etc before and after the race. Please stop buy after the race to see if they have something for you be that a drink, a bite to eat or a cool-down session at the gym.

We also need some volunteers to be marshals on the course to make sure our runners are safe. If you can help please get in touch. As always you will earn yourself a free entry into the next race or another race in the series.
