Built 6 years after the plague in Eyam, this Jacobean country house has a wealth of history and family stories connected with the local area.

We thoroughly recommend a visit as it's only open 2 months of the year.

Today I made an effort to forage all botanicals from the garden to cheer myself up with an autumnal wreath full of seasonal plant materials. Much nicer as a hanging display than let everything just wither and die eventually. It’s the season’s bounty with Physalis and Amaranthus looking fabulous and at their best because in another weeks time the forecast is frost. Glad I took time to make this instead of devoting my time to cleaning the garage which can be done another day, maybe tomorrow! 🙂

I had to smile about my Fascicularia bicolor being called Baboons arse plant. Glad mine are doing ok in the rockery. 😁
