Sheffield City Council have now agreed to proceed with the controversial Local Plan to build on green belt sites across the city. Labour, Liberal Democrats and Green Party councillors all identified sites and worked together on the plan, but the Lib Dems subsequently voted against it. There will be a period of public consultation over the summer, public hearings in the autumn and a review by the inspectorate prior to a final decision being made on the local site which is situated between Lodge Moor Road and the conduit. Subsequent planning permission to build the planned 258 dwellings is required.
HCYA aims to host a public meeting for all local residents once the public consultation period opens. Details will follow.
