🥳 what a way to close out this run of Autumn dates 🙌 with a proper wicked guestmix from NikNak in the cosy confines of Outlaws Yacht Club in Leeds!

It's been really great to present the 'Dig Deep' record shop and mix series at this stellar venue; awesome bunch behind it all! And the knowledgeable and extraordinary skills of NikNak bought in a mix of all sorts, traversing explorative beats of varying tempo, style, and influence, finishing on a track anybody who lived through that bouncy clubland era will be familiar with 🚦🚨🔊🚨🚦

For our return to Leeds we're well excited to welcome the superbly talented multi-disciplinary musician NikNak 💫

Events and collaborations with the likes of 4DSOUND and MONOM, releases on Kynant Records and First Terrace Records, and rave reviews from the likes of Ransom Note and DJ Mag, paint an impressive and distinguished life in music already, and there's nothing out of reach for the inspired creativity of NikNak.

Saturday was a blast! Thanks so much to all at Pan-Pan and of course Mr Switch for a real fun one - well and truly bossed it 💯🔥

Some snaps here of the day; met lots of vinyl fans and was treated to a journey of eclectic selections from Mr Switch, including a naughty remix of Inner City's 'Good Life' and some garage classics!

Blessed to be joined by the gifted turntablist talent of 4 x DMC World DJ champ Mr Switch on this next edition of 🔥⚡🔥

Mr Switch [aka Anthony Culverwell] is one the UK's most accomplished ever DJs, with 4 x DMC and 7 x UK DJ championship belts to his name. He's also the first DJ to ever perform at the BBC Proms!

His first DMC win was in '08, aged just 19 as DJ Switch, defending the title for 3 years ['08/'09/'10] becoming the first DJ to do so. He later returned in 2014 to stamp another win, this time under new moniker Mr Switch 🏆

Later accolades include his pivotal performance of the hip-hop-come-classical piece from composer Gabriel Prokofiev, "Concerto for Turntables", which draws on sounds made exclusively from an orchestra, which also inspired the orchestral group of Mr Switch called Symphonica Orchestra.

Highlighted performances at festivals like Bestival, Shambala Festival, and Glastonbury, and credits with BBC Radio 1, KISS FM, and BBC Asian Network, and shows around the globe, are thanks to his versatile skills and multi-genre mastery on the decks. This is expertly presented his viral hit with fellow DMC champ JFB on their live remix of Fatboy Slim's "Right Here, Right Now", showing off the quality of Denon DJ kit in the process 🎛️

Mr Switch joins as one of the UK's most accomplished ever DJs, celebrating 4 x DMC World DJ and 7 x UK DJ Championship titles 🏆 he's also the first DJ in history to perform at the BBC Proms!

Respected around the world for his multi-genre mastery and unique versatility, Mr Switch is also known for merging worlds of hip-hop, classical, and bass music; so we can't wait to have him rummage through our records and lay down an exclusive one-of-a-kind guest mix 📀💿

The BBS pop-up record shop will be open to all from 15:00 - 18:00, before Mr Switch steps into the mix 20:00 - 21:00.

Very excited to welcome the trailblazing talent of Ellen Beth Abdi into the realms of 'Dig Deep', returning to our familiar surroundings at Station South in Levenshulme, Manchester.

Ellen Beth Abdi's rise and recognition is living proof of passion for a craft; presenting her well-rounded musical blend of love for her local community and sharing her personal narrative with an innately soulful and inspired take on alternative pop music, never short of a unique warmth 🌟🙌

Her multi-instrumentalist skills and bucket loads of musical vision have landed her support slots with Olivia Dean, Hollie Cook, Ishmael Ensemble, Oscar Jerome, and Allysha Joy, and a celebrated collaboration with Angélique Kidjo at ‘Manchester International International Festival 2023’. And she has also featured with the likes of The Stone Roses, New Order, and A Certain Ratio.

Her self-produced and self-titled debut album released earlier this year, via her own label 'Sweet Twenty-Three Records', explores all layers of her sound and is definitely worth checking out 💯

💿📀 No doubt everything up to now will navigate her through the crate diggin' challenge, before stepping up to the 'Dig Deep' turntables for her mystery mix! 📀💿
