It was given to the people of Walkley as a venue for social, leisure and education facilities in 1909 to "act as a counter attraction to the public house influence” for the young men of the area. Bookings: To book a room or see available hire spaces go to our Book Now page https://www.walkleycommunitycentre.org/hire-2 . Follow the instructions to pencil in a hire. Its Heritage Open days in Walkley this weekend and the Walkley Community Centre will be open with Walkley Historians giving tours and diplays about the community centre and local history. Find out about the heritage, wildlife and pathways of the Rivelin Valley with volunteers from Rivelin Valley Conservation Group.
We will also be running a cafe with hot and cold drinks and cake.
