A simple sculptural arrangement, created by individually wiring tiny clusters of gyp to create branches and build the shape. Something a little different, but hands down one of my favourite pieces to date.

Created for Collective by AWE by Amanda Whiston Events | Wedding Design & Planning , there’s something about the simplicity of the form, the movement of each individual stem and the way it holds its shape that I found so satisfying. It felt like one of those pieces that was just as much about the design as it was the flowers.

And since April, it has had a permanent home on my dining room table. Proof that not every arrangement needs to be for a wedding day.

A Sri Lankan ceremony, brought to life with abundant flowers, tropical shapes and a neutral palette.

Give me a table and I’ll turn it into a flower studio.

A little surprise from the groom, waiting for the bride on the morning of the wedding.

The moment I get to hand over the bouquet is always one of my favourite parts of the day.

A little glimpse of the Sri Lankan traditions woven throughout the day…colour, movement, music and plenty of energy.

A brilliant party and a dance floor that was very much being used.

“Katie made Sas cry!”

I’ve never been so proud to make someone cry.

This wedding was such a special one to be part of… a private garden, beneath the orchard trees, with clouds of green and white hydrangeas, a soft summer palette and the most beautiful sense of being completely at home.

And then, weeks later, this lovely thank-you card arrived through the post. 🤍

It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do. Not just creating the flowers, but being trusted to be part of the story. The anticipation, the nerves, the first look, the happy tears and all the little moments in between.

I feel incredibly lucky to have worked with so many wonderful couples this summer, and if I’ve created your wedding flowers, I’d be so grateful if you could spare a couple of minutes to leave me a Google review.

From ceremony to celebration.

S&J’s ceremony flowers were designed around a very specific brief: abundant, modern and beautifully rounded. Full, sculptural arrangements with a strong silhouette, with hydrangeas playing a starring role throughout.

And then came the small challenge of the hottest day of the year…

I felt like a superhero keeping those hydrangea alive and after the ceremony we moved the arrangements to the family orchard for the wedding breakfast. The same statement flowers took on a completely different feel surrounded by the trees and dappled summer light, creating a beautiful transition from ceremony to dinner.

I love designing flowers with the whole day in mind. Considered, abundant and modern, but always with the setting and the practicalities of the day at the heart of the design.
