We meticulously test every game in our party packs.

Today one of the games was to throw balls on the centre of our flowers. The wind blew the petals across and made the game too tricky for outdoors. It won't be in our outdoor packs.

Great fun inside though and super easy to make.

Pass the parcel is an absolute MUST for a young children's party. Here are our top 5 tips (years of learning the hard way!)

1. Choose a small prize...after the 9th layer of paper goes on you'll be thankful the parcel isn't bigger than your smallest guest.

2. Make sure the last layer has different coloured paper so you know you have reached the end of game. Spoilers for grown ups only!

3. Make sure there is enough layers for each of your party guests to unwrap. A sweet on each layer is very welcome.

4. Before you start wrapping the parcel, put out the number of sweets for the layers you need. That way, you won't lose count when a small person shouts or the kettle boils and have to start again. Trust us, it has happened.

5. If you have more than 12-15 guests, the game will be a test of endurance for you and your guests. Consider doing two smaller parcels at the same time. Good luck to the music stopper!

Top tip: always have a couple of spare party bags or sweets for unexpected guests who may turn up on the day!

We have learnt a new variation on the 'keep the balloon in the air' game today.

Give every child a number and stand in a circle. Throw the balloon in the air.

When their number is called they must stop the balloon from touching the floor. Keep calling numbers.

A tiny bit of order in the chaos!
