Sláinte Mhath! Happy Burns Night!

It’s that time of year for warm blankets, gorgeous food, and giving your best renditions of Auld Lang Syne around the fire.

First held in 1801, Burns night or Burns Supper celebrates the life and works of Scottish poet Robert Burns. Traditionally, this involves an evening of Scottish delicacies, fine whisky and retellings of Burn’s iconic poems (with Auld Lang Syne as the showstopper!)

At Sheffield Manor Lodge we’ll have our former resident in mind, Mary Queen of Scots, on a night to celebrate the fascinating heritage of our neighbours to the north.
