Laughter is the best therapy 🤩😂🥳🥰

A Dolled Up Pamper Party is self-care wrapped in psychology, with a lot of fun and laughter and a few 🥒 slices thrown in.

It is karaoke for the children who think they cannot sing. When someone tells me they are too shy, I hand them a wig, some funky glasses and a hat, pass them a 🎤 and tell them to face the shimmer wall so nobody will recognise them. It always makes them laugh, and it always works. That is the magic of words and why we place so much importance on them through the self-fulfilling prophecy. We make everybody feel like they belong, especially the ones who arrive certain they don’t.

It is the chocolate fountain in the picnic room, with 🍓 and marshmallows. It is the hidden fairy doors that the older children pretend they are too cool to look for and then look for anyway. It is the meditation room full of cushions and fluffy pillows and teddies, because you are never too old to cuddle a little teddy.

And that is only a small part of who we are. There is so much more.

We have our products made for us and we use them as a tool and that’s all they’re meant to be. A bit of clay, a little oil, dough to mix, smooth on and wipe off again. What they’re really for is giving us a reason to slow down, notice and feel. To take time out to have a laugh or not, sometimes it’s about just stopping and relaxing and breathing a little deeper. The skincare is the way in. The calm is what we’re actually after.
