Wall of Love for Keeley 🖤

Last week, we came together in love and solidarity for Keeley - a brave young person who has been targeted at her primary school simply for being different.

We had a message last week from Mum, Kerry, from Leeds, telling us Keeley has recently discovered the amazing world of goth but has struggled a little bit in expressing her identity due to other’s attitudes.

So, on her last day of Year 6, we formed a Wall of Love outside the school to show Keeley that she is not alone. That being yourself is something to be proud of. And that our community stands proudly beside her.

Thank you to everyone who made the time to support Keeley during a busy working week. Special thanks to Elizabeth Rose from and to Cat who represented local band on their behalf. Your kindness, presence and love meant more than words can say.

Very kindly, has offered the family a special tour of the new exhibition on Leeds goth music and has offered a free piece from their collection. You truly are stars.
The event was a peaceful, powerful expression of unity, and a beautiful surprise for Keeley.

With permission, we captured a group photo to serve as a lasting reminder: there is hope, there is love and there is strength in being different.

Thank you for showing the next generation what real community looks like.

The Sophie Lancaster Foundation is proud to be part of the Leeds Festival of Gothica Alternative Market this weekend and we can’t wait to see you there.

We’ll be at the heart of this incredible event, connecting with our community, sharing our mission and standing together to challenge prejudice and promote understanding.

This isn’t just a market. It’s a celebration of alternative culture, individuality, creativity and solidarity.

Expect 120+ amazing independent traders selling everything from dark fashion and handmade jewellery, to curiosities, magickal supplies, horror art, gothic homeware and more.

The event is free, with level access, accessible toilets and changing places, making it a truly inclusive, liberated space for all.

We’re so proud to be part of this thriving, diverse and welcoming community. Come by our stall to meet us, hear about our work and show your support for our mission to end hatred, prejudice and violence against people from alternative subcultures. You can also grab some merch from us while you’re there.
