Starting something new can feel like a big step, so here are some of the questions we're asked most often...

💬 "My child is shy."
That's absolutely okay! Many of our students join feeling nervous. We create a warm, supportive environment where every child can build confidence at their own pace.

🎤 "I don't think they'll enjoy singing."
PQA is so much more than singing! Every student experiences Film & TV, Comedy & Drama and Musical Theatre, giving them the chance to discover what they enjoy most.

🕺 "They've never danced before."
No experience? No problem! Our classes are designed for all abilities, and our teachers are there to support every student from day one.

👕 "What should they wear?"
Anything comfortable that they can move around in! There's no need for specialist clothing for a taster session—just come ready to have fun.

⭐ "Can they try before joining?"
Yes! We offer a free taster session so your child can experience PQA, meet the teachers and make sure it's the right fit before signing up.

Our PQA Scarborough Comedy & Drama students had a fantastic time taking part in a clowning workshop, exploring what it really takes to make an audience laugh!🤣

Throughout the session, students experimented with props, discovered how different environments can influence a clown's performance and explored a range of clowning styles. They also worked on comic timing, physical comedy and mastered the art of trips, slips and falls, learning how to create funny moments through movement and reaction.⭐

To round off the workshop, each student proudly graduated from Clown School and officially earned their very own clown nose! 🤡❤️

It was a brilliant session full of laughter, creativity and confidence-building, and we can't wait to see these new skills brought into future performances! 🌟💛

🎥🎤 Lights, camera... interview! 🎤🎥

This week in PQA Scarborough Film & TV, our students stepped in front of the camera to develop their on-screen interview techniques.

Whether it's presenting, taking part in documentaries, promotional content or behind-the-scenes features, being able to speak confidently and naturally to camera is an important skill for any performer. Throughout the session, students explored how to communicate clearly, maintain eye contact, listen actively and respond with confidence, all while staying relaxed in front of the camera.

Another fantastic session developing practical screen skills that can be used both in the industry and beyond! 🌟💛
