The summer holidays are nearly here… and this year they’re even longer than usual! 😅

If you’re looking for a fun, creative and confidence-building activity for your child this August, our School of Rock Show in a Week Summer School could be just the thing.

Over five exciting days, students will rehearse, perform, make friends and experience the thrill of putting on a full production together.

At PQA, we believe performing arts is about so much more than performance — it’s about discovering confidence, creativity, friendships and a true sense of self.

Every young person’s journey is different, which is why we are passionate about creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where students can truly be themselves without judgement. Through acting, singing, dancing and filmmaking, our students are encouraged to express themselves, take creative risks and grow in confidence week by week.

Our “Find Yourself at PQA” ethos is woven into everything we do. We help young people to:

🎭✨ We made an AMAZING start to our brand new Physical Theatre Project last weekend! 🌟

This exciting project is all about using our bodies, voices and imagination to create stories, characters and entire worlds on stage — without relying on props, set or screens! 👏🎬

Through a series of creative workshops, our students will explore:
🎭 Ensemble performance
🖼 Image creation
🤸 Movement and mime
📖 Storytelling and poetry
💃 Physical expression and dance

Already, we’ve seen our performers stepping outside their comfort zones, trusting their creativity and discovering just how powerful theatre can be using only themselves and their imagination. ✨

We can’t wait to continue developing these skills over the next few weeks — this project is going to be so exciting to watch grow! 🌟🎭

🎬✨ Last weekend in Film & TV, our young filmmakers moved onto their SECOND movies for our PQA Scarborough Cinema Screening at Cineworld! 🍿🌟

Our students have been screen testing their scripts on location, exploring how their stories will work on camera while also reminding themselves how a professional film set runs to make our upcoming shoot days as smooth and effective as possible. 🎥👏

From directing and camera work to acting and teamwork, everyone has been working incredibly hard — and we can’t wait to see these new films come to life on the big screen! ✨🎬

🌟 Last Weekend in Poppets 🌟

Last weekend, our Poppets explored the theme of Working Together through imagination, creativity and teamwork! 💫

Our Poppets are continuing to develop their understanding of why teamwork is such an important part of performing, whilst having LOTS of fun along the way! 💛

We are now super excited to start our showcase rehearsals after the half-term break, where we’ll be bringing together all of our skills, stepping stones, stories and dances into our very own Poppets Showcase!! 🌈⭐

🌟 This Week in Poppets – Week 6: Independence & Self-Belief 🌟

This week in Poppets, we’ll be celebrating Independence and Self-Belief as our young performers continue to grow in confidence and creativity! 💫

Our Poppets will all have a go at:
🎭 Working independently
💡 Improvising creatively
🎤 Performing confidently
🗣️ Offering their own ideas and suggestions

We’ll also be working hard on remembering the story for our showcase and learning a brand new song ready to share with you soon! 🎶✨
