What a grand start yesterday, the rbl played, the beacon was lit, the fireworks where lit, the people of Sawston supported, watched and listened. It was a superb display..
Now day 2, the service at 12 midday.

6 months ago a small group of like minded Sawstonians thought maybe a celebration for the Queen's Jubilee could be held in Sawston. Normally such events are planned a year in advance.
This group was started at 26 weeks, web site built and the planning began.
Well now it's next week, yes 1 week to go. It's been an adventure, good to see the people the businesses of Sawston get together and get the job done.
Now it's up to you, join the fun, join the celebration, it all starts Thursday next week...

2 weeks wow seems only yesterday started, been doing Facebook countdowns for 21 weeks. Now we are down to marking out the pitches etc for the Saturday Sunday events.
The website does now include event Dates/Times so do check.
Would also like to recognise the effect the group has completed to get this far, a year or more in just few months, cannot be done, oh yes it can, this is Sawston.....

3 weeks to go, posters are now appearing in the high street, leaflet delivery soon.
We have a list of events and times and will post this on web site.
For now please spread the word, let all join the fun, join the celebration.
And just been informed the church will be bell ringing.
During the morning of Saturday 28th May there will be a peal attempt of an appropriately named piece of ringing music called Jubilee Surprise Major.
We will also be ringing from 11:30-12:00 on Friday 3rd June prior to the 12 noon service at St Mary's.
