The countdown is officially on for this year’s Sandwich Folk & Ale Festival, bringing live music, community spirit, and great local ale to the town across the weekend! 🙌🌾

Local community groups across Dover District can now apply for funding through Dover District Council’s Community Grants Scheme, which opens today.

A total of £50,000 is available in this summer funding round, with grants of between £100 and £2,500 available for projects that bring a clear benefit to local residents.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Tuesday 26 May 2026.

These grants can be a really useful source of support for local charities, voluntary groups, clubs and community organisations delivering positive work in our towns and villages. A further £50,000 is also expected to be made available in a winter funding round later in the year.
