Wow, wow, WOW!
Saturday’s wedding for Lora and Nathan was quite literally like a story from a film!

They were married in the former church, now Art Centre and theatre in Saltburn by the Sea: the exact place where Lora’s grandparent were married 70 years ago.

Their own love story was just the most amazing narrative and I’m absolutely honoured to have been chosen by them to tell it in the Lottilly way!

They had planned every detail in a way I’ve never seen before and the love for this couple by everyone in the room took my breath away!

Married on the stage under the theatre lights on the hottest day of the year so far, I felt like I was melting, but these two weren’t flustered for a moment!

An incredibly special day, for an incredible special couple 💖💖💖💖💖

OMG! What an AMAZING day yesterday for Amalia and Ben 💖

An outdoor wedding ceremony in the Lake District is not for the faint hearted with the unpredictable and ever changing weather conditions (all part of Cumbria’s unique charm!) and there was A LOT of bordering-on-obsessive weather app check right up until 30 minutes before the ceremony (not gonna lie, my heart was in my mouth on more than one occasion!), but Mother Nature came through, and I am still rather emotional about the fact that the couple got to have their ceremony against the backdrop of Loughrigg Fell which holds such significance for them! 💖🥲

Oh, and absolute hats off to the utterly phenomenal who provided THE BEST bride and groom exit I have EVER seen: a brass band FLASHMOB to lead the bride,groom and guests from the garden ceremony to the drinks reception and then carried on sets throughout the afternoon and into the night!!

My face ached from smiling so much!! 💖💖💖💖

I genuinely L💖VE getting to know the couples I work with and making their stories come to life in every ceremony script I create and deliver.

But it’s nerve wracking sending off the first script draft to a couple and waiting for the feedback! 😱😬

I pour my heart and soul into every aspect of a couple’s ceremony because it is so personal to them… but it’s personal to me too!

I spend a long time getting to know my couples, learning about the ins and outs of their personalities and their unique stories; I form a real bond with them 😍

But honestly, when I get feedback like this, which PERFECTLY summarises why people choose a celebrant in the first place, it makes the late nights, the back and forth in my own head about the words I choose, the order to tell their story in, the right levels of humour versus emotion, the drafting, the editing and sometimes the complete abandonment of my first idea to start again from scratch as I seek perfection, all worthwhile! 💖😍

I never take for granted the privilege it is to be let into a couple’s world.

What a busy few weeks it has been meeting up with my lovely couples to see their venues and get to know them. Now it’s time to crack on with writing their ceremony scripts!

Firstly there was Ben and Amalia. They are getting married in a barn at the base of Loughrigg Fell in the Lake District!

Next was Laura and Nathan who are getting married at Saltburn Arts Centre and Theatre!

And yesterday it was to Halifax to meet Amy and Alexander in a field!! (Which will be having a tipi put on it!) at Another World Adventure Centre!

Each of these venues and couples are so very different, but the one thing they all have in common? These locations hold real significance to each of them.

And that’s the beauty of a celebrant-led ceremony 💖 …

It doesn’t matter if a place holds a marriage license or not, you can still have your wedding there with the most wonderfully personalised ceremony and day that is in-keeping with the significance of the venue and the story it has played in your life.

Some couples choose a venue, but for some couples, the venue chooses them and I am 💯 here for that!

👋🏻 It’s been a wee while so I thought I’d re-introduce myself! 👋🏻

I’m Caroline aka Lottillly! I am a celebrant who is full of fun, love and laughter and I bring that to every ceremony I craft and deliver! 🥰

But not only that! I also offer full on-the-day coordination AND DIY venue dressing! I’m like a little wedding fairy!!! 🧚🧚

Things about me:

💖Yorkshire Tea is life! 🫖 (I’m an Essex OG, but have lived in Yorkshire for 30 years! Yorkshire knows how to do tea!) 3 cups minimum before I turn my laptop on in the morning!

💖Sequins are for anytime of the year, not just Christmas! Nothing is ‘for a special occasion’ only! EVERY day is a special occasion! Wear the sparkle!

💖I LOVE doggies! I have two! 🐾🐾

💖My claim to fame is that I’m a Celebrant on E4’s ‘Married At First Sight’ (yes what you see on TV is real!)

💖’Lottilly is a combination of my two daughters’ names! (My twin boys continue to be aggrieved they do not feature! 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♂️) I answer to both Caroline and Lottilly these days! (And a whole host of other names to be fair! 🤣🤣)

💖 In a nutshell, I’m a ‘glass half full’ kinda girl who is OBSESSED with the colour pink! Not taking life too seriously is totally my vibe!😎

Ohhhhhhhh what a GREAT day I’ve had speaking to so many couples at various stages of planning their special day!

Thank you and of course the wonderful team who have organised such a great event!

I just love wedding fayres! Hearing about couples’ plans, ideas and of course spreading all the Lottilly Celebrant love everywhere I go in a blaze of PINK, is a real privilege 💖
(Turns out my dress was a real conversation point too! Who knew?! 🤣 Gotta love !)

Events like this always continue to reinforce what I already know: EVERY couple is unique and that’s why I do what I do! 🙌🏻

Why would you NOT want your wedding ceremony or vow renewal ceremony to reflect exactly who you are both individuals and as a couple? 🤷🏼‍♂️🤔 Having a celebrant-led ceremony gives you the freedom to have EXACTLY that! 💖💖
