Wilderness Festival 2025 // The Jumpyard
Being asked to creatively produce three venues for Wilderness in 2025 was a real honour. Here's venue one: The Jumpyard.
Inspired by a South African beer hall, we designed this bands, beats, and bass venue to work with the stunning Cruck tent structure. Exposed beams. Dimly lit industrial lighting. The perfect atmosphere for dancing into the early hours.
Authenticity was everything here – the entire set needed to look genuinely weathered and lived-in. With 20 years of scenic art experience, we brought each piece of weatherboard to life. Hand-finished surfaces. Bespoke props. Dressing that made it feel like it had always been there.

After 20 years of using Flints Theatrical Chandlers as our go-to for scenic and prop-making supplies, we were absolutely delighted when they invited DECORDIA to feature in the Showcase section of their 2025 Flints Catalogue!

Festival Season is in full swing, and we’re full-on in the workshop—covered in paint, powered by playlists, and bringing exciting ideas to life. 💥🎨

It’s not just about perfect colour matches or flawless finishes (though we’ve got those too 👌). It’s about telling stories through every set, every build—giving each piece its own story, spark and soul.

From theatre to festivals, events to live experiences, we’re creating bright, bold and eye-catching designs—with sustainability guiding every step. 🌍💚

In our 2023-2024 Sustainability Strategy we committed to ensuring that all our full time and freelance staff would complete Carbon Literacy Training.
So, how are we doing?

In August, our Carbon Literacy for Events course was officially approved by the Carbon Literacy Project
💪 Since then, 80% of our team—both permanent and freelance—have completed the training.
What does this mean for us?
Our team now truly understands what it means to reduce our carbon impact and why sustainability matters—not just for the planet, but for people too. Even better, they've told us they now feel empowered to take meaningful action, both at Decordia and with other organisations they work with.
This training has also helped bring our Sustainability Strategy to life, making it real, relevant, and actionable across every project.

And that’s it, we are wrapped from Boardmasters 2024! This was a mega show for us, designing and building 3 new stages, a new Keg and Pasty Pub, as well as a new logo for the main stage, theming and dressing all areas of the site and not forgetting re-installing our sustainable signage created in 2022 and still looking beaut!
I can’t thank the DECORDIA crew enough for being a total dream team.

Looking back at chillier times when we transformed Cathedral Gardens into a bespoke Ice Village for Hamilton Ice Sculptors. ❄️

From festive elements to on-brand signage, we created their Ice Cavern Ice Tiki Bar bringing their wintry brief to life.

After the transformation of their secret garden area in 2020, we headed back to Bodega bar in Nottingham to give their inside decor the same DECORDIA treatment, bringing a full makeover to the bar and even giving our existing secret garden decor a refresh for the upcoming beer garden season.

As the first design was focused on people being able to socialise in their bubbles during the pandemic, we gave the space a repaint and installed new bespoke furniture in the garden, made by Crafthouse Creations.

In 2023 we joined ISLA, the growing network of businesses sharing their sustainability journey. ISLA provide practical guidance and support on environmental issues drawing on expertise from across the sector to create a powerful network with the knowledge and confidence to facilitate change.

We're six months into our membership and we're already benefiting from bringing suppliers and freelancers together to really understand the difference that we can make if we can all work together. Our next step is to upload our events to their carbon measurement platform and drive our ambition to be more sustainable.

We invited our freelancers and suppliers Crafthouse and A&E Adventures to the training session so we're all learning new ways to do better together. All learning how to support DECORDIA's ongoing strides to be more a sustainable option for clients. 🌍💙
