Hello! Hope you’re all doing okay.
Long time since I’ve posted, which was the idea, following retirement!
We’ve downsized from our big house to a cute bungalow in beautiful Battle, which we love.
I’ve had to sell most of my sewing stuff. Most has gone now, but I’m left with a handful of gown bags.
They have my old logo on so I can’t sell them - if you’d like one for FREE to put your wedding dress in please let me know (DM) and we can arrange collection.

💜 Here I am, enjoying retirement, and had a very pleasant surprise when I received these lovely photos from Nikita who was married recently.
I can’t take credit for the groom’s ensemble, but I did make the wedding gown and flower girl frock.
They look beautiful 💜

💜 I’ve Retired! 🎉
Yes, my birthday yesterday was the first day of not running a business. It feels wonderful at the moment, but I’m sure I’ll miss meeting and getting to know new brides.

My accountant, Margaret, and I share the same birthday, and in my card this year she remarked how I was her very first client in 1979/80. Margaret was studying to become an accountant, and two of our relatives worked together, so we were introduced and the rest is history. I’ve been making wedding dresses all that time, and Margaret’s company have been helping with the accounting/tax return side of running my business, and I will be forever grateful.

I’d like to thank each and every one of you for following my business page since I joined social media - past brides continue to be interested, and it has been a pleasure to show you my work as and when I’ve been commissioned to make a bridal gown, and show off the ready made side of my business.

💕So today, let’s have some fun and make this post all about you - all my beautiful ex brides 👰🏻

I’m not going to disappear immediately. I may post a photo or two occasionally. I have loved my job, but it’s hard work, being self-employed and running a business. It’s not for the faint hearted so it’s time to do all the things I’ve never had time to do.

💜 It’s nearly time to close! Monday is the final day!
Last appointments left at BSBW are on Monday at 10.30am, 12pm and 3.30pm.
Then I’m hanging up my ‘professional’ tape measure forever, and putting my feet up.

💜 The Sale has been going well, and I’ve enjoyed my last flurry of helping brides2be choose their special dress.
But talking it over with my partner-in-crime this morning I’ve decided to close my doors next Monday 23rd January. It’s technically Retirement Day on 24th (my 66th birthday) so Monday it’s a good date to finish.
Although it’s still a Half Price Sale, I’m happy to take sensible offers for this final week.
Appointment times are Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, although I’m happy to do an evening appointment - just ask 💕

💜 I had such a delightful bride here today, with her mum and sister.
Rebecca chose one of my own, original creations that was perfect for her.
I usually name the dresses I make for stock, and guess what was on the label?
‘Rebecca.’
It must have been waiting for her.

The Half Price sale is ongoing, so if you’d like an appointment, the times are Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm. If those times are difficult for you I will try to accommodate a different time.

Something a bit different to show you today.....some dolls clothes I made for Daisy, our granddaughter, for Christmas.
I also have some dress fabric ready to make her some summer frocks, and maybe a jumpsuit.
These are some of the things I’m hoping will keep me out of mischief when I fully retire! 💜
