We are excited to share with you a sneaky peek into the future interior designs for the Guildhall. Introducing the new front of house café bar entrance area and the hall.

The history of the Guildhall has played a lead role throughout the interior design process to strike a careful balance between celebrating heritage whilst modernising it fit for the future. From the pavement to the stage Barbara Hepworth’s ‘Dual Form’ and the 1930’s Canadian maple wood dance floor have been an inspiration.

It's a stage we are going through....

Time for sneaky peak of the works in the Guildhall. The stage has been removed ready for the excavation work to begin!

The new toilet provision under the stage, means the ground floor area needs to be removed and then all lowered by 4 feet.

We absolutely love hearing about the role the Guildhall plays in people's lives… be it a great night out, a stall holder at a market or getting married here. We’ve been gathering stories and want to share a very special one with you this Valentines.

Darrin visited the Guildhall in August 2024 to see where his mum and dad met on a fateful day in 1960 and through this his mum, Diana, shared their story....
