Wow that was a scorcher!! What a fabulous wedding day A & E had at the stunning last Friday with so much sun and happiness 💓 Keeping ceremony blooms fresh in 33 degrees of heat with no shade was a bit of a challenge but we left the urns in the shade until the last possible moment and then moved them into the beautifully air conditioned Tudor Barn ready for the wedding breakfast as soon as we could afterwards. Cool air and more water and they were soon revived and even decorated the breakfast barn the following morning!

Winter sun (for a brief moment) and beautiful bright Cornish daffodils are a great mood enhancer on January days. 800 daffodils packed and ready to be delivered, in a variety of glass vases, to the venue of a very special birthday celebration 🌼 .

Bouquets ready and waiting for delivery to the Bride and her Maids🧡 Handing over the bouquets is always one of my favourite parts of the day - you can just feel the heady mixture of emotion, excitement and of course a few nerves thrown in too. And the best reaction a wedding florist can receive is tears…. of joy of course!

Warning - I’ll be sharing LOTS of images from the fabulous wedding of George & Verity last weekend but to start with here’s just a few of their Autumn inspired top table! Vast majority of the flowers and foliages were locally grown and my local flower farmers and came up trumps with beautiful seasonal blooms in an Autumn palette.

So it’s definitely not sunny in North Hertfordshire at the moment but these big blousy yellow blooms certainly let us pretend it is! 🌻 Gorgeous sunflowers from where you can pick your own bouquet of sunshine today and tomorrow only - the forecast is getting better! I was lucky to spend the early Summer months in Italy this year and couldn’t believe the abundance of gorgeous flowers and foliages that were “local” to where we were staying - olive, lavender, rosemary (cascades of it!) and these gorgeous sunflowers were everywhere. What I’d give to have these beautiful ingredients on my doorstep at home. Unfortunately our olive tree and rosemary plants didn’t survive the harsh winter temperatures which made these natural displays of gorgeousness even more special 😍 …… and the scents were pretty amazing too! 🌻

WREATH WORKSHOP INGREDIENTS Come along to one of our workshops in Ashwell and get your hands on a vast array of gorgeous ingredients to make your very own unique door wreath this Christmas. The possible combinations of colours and textures are endless …. deciding will be the hardest part! But I’ll be on hand together with Barbara of to guide and help you with your decisions if you’d like it.

Just look at this bouquet of beautiful British blooms …. and what’s especially amazing is they were all grown locally and cut in October!
We had the most wonderful surprise yesterday when this fabulously gorgeous bouquet was delivered by the wonderful and talented Josie of at the request of lovely Barbara of . In times of difficulty and illness it’s amazing what beautiful flowers can do to the spirit …. knowing the thought that has gone into such a lovely gift and in the case of these flowers knowing all the love and hard work that has gone into growing them as well as delivering them with a smile, is just so uplifting. We also feel very lucky to have the last flowers of the season to go out from Browns British Flowers!
Just love our local flower farmers - they are a very special bunch 💐❤️❤️❤️

Beating the first frosts! Despite it being late September and there’s definitely an Autumn chill in the air every single stem of these blooms and foliage were grown up the road - can’t get more local than that!
As a volunteer I get the opportunity to do my own thing flowers wise when it’s my turn and this time I decided to try to source everything as local as I could. Doing the flowers in our beautiful church is always an uplifting experience and one I relish.

We've loved working up some bespoke wreath designs for in Baldock. Not only are they wonderful interior designers but they share our passion for beautiful yet sustainable items to decorate your home, so working with them to develop their own bespoke designs has been an absolute joy.
As you would expect the studio door is gorgeous for hanging wreaths on too! Staffy B will be taking orders for their two designs until 27th November.
