If you were lucky enough to get tickets for this Friday’s Cheese & Winyl at the Corn Exchange, then you’re in for a very special evening! The Honest Fig are taking things up a notch by bringing a touch of après-ski to Royston with our delicious RACLETTE offering!
What’s Raclette? It’s a traditional Alpine dish where cheese is melted and scraped over potatoes, charcuterie, and pickles—a warm, gooey delight perfect for the colder months! We’ll be using Ogleshield, a superbly meltable cheese (made by Montgomery's and supplied to us by Neal’s Yard Dairy) from the West Country that’s a full rich, nutty flavor.
Not in the mood for Raclette? No worries! You can also build your own cheeseboards from our selection of top-quality cheeses.
Come along for a night of great music by Revolution Records Royston , beautiful beer from Buntingford Brewery , delicious wines from Cambridge Wine Royston and a true autumnal experience!
If you didn’t get tickets don’t worry, we have availability for a small number of walks in. We are kicking off at 5pm with Raclette being served from 5.30pm until 8.30pm or until we sell out!
See you at the Corn Exchange!
Delighted to be stocking in the shop Cobble Lane Cured meats.
We did stock their delicious meats on the market but they have now started selling Guanciale.
Guanciale has a sweet and intense flavour that melts in your mouth. Thinly slice it to eat on its own, in a sandwich or it can be used in many pasta dishes, especially a Carbonara.
Prepping for our Raclette Sunday
Don't forget, Raclette in the courtyard tomorrow 12pm until 4pm..... This is just a little teaser of what's in-store!
Just listen to that cheese 👂
We also have an alcohol licence for the weekend so will be serving wine, beer and soft drinks.
A bit of bad news, a bit of exciting news and a great big thank you!
Just had to pop out of the shop quickly and was drawn to the music on the high street. There is a lovely vibe in the town this morning helped by this very talented musician
I've gone from being the person that ordered corporate breakfasts and lunches to now owning my own company that provides them.
I guess knowing what I expected from my suppliers in my previous life gives me a bit of an advantage when dealing with my customers who order from me....that and the quality of the ingredients
I'm lucky enough to have a few regular customers, this breakfast was delivered this morning for 140 employees.
A little piece on how this Manchego from Pata Negra is the reason I started my cheese adventure and changed my life!
NEW CHEESE ALERT
This one is so special it deserves a video. Pyghtle is now in our counter. Limited availability so don't miss out.
p.s. when I say it lasts I mean the flavour lasts...not the cheese, that disappears pretty quickly 🤣
(Also if you get bored of my video you could just use it as a drinking game....every time I say cheese take a drink! )
It's been a busy week and I'm behind on emails and messages. I have one more event to do today and I will then start catching up. Thank you for your patience.
But first a Sunday morning stroll with my two faves and a delicious coffee from @hideawaycafe
