Although I can’t access the post on here, I have been informed about the comments made by the anonymous participant on the Rowley Regis Page regarding an incident at our play centre on Monday.

I was the manager on duty and spoke with the concerned mother, who informed me about a father taking pictures in the under-3s area while his daughter played. Forgive me if I’m mistaken, but I don’t recall her telling me (quote) “he was taking pictures when his child wasn’t around.”
After concerns were raised i immediately spoke to the father and questioned him about taking pictures of other children. He openly and happily showed me his phone and the videos he had taken and it was clear that the pictures/videos WERE ALL OF HIS CHILD , with other children in the background. I informed him that he must not take pictures of other children for safeguarding reasons and asked him to delete all images and videos. He immediately deleted them all and apologized, saying he did not know.

I have carefully monitored the CCTV cameras and can confirm that the father was closely following his daughter at all times while she played in different areas of the play centre, with his wife also present.

I fully understand people’s concerns, and had I believed this to be a police matter, I would, of course, have contacted them immediately.

Our staff team is dedicated to ensuring that Junglebugs remains a safe and happy environment. All team members have been informed of this incident. We take customer concerns about children’s safety seriously and will, of course, be extra vigilant regarding the use of phones. Any future incidents will be addressed promptly.

PLEAAE NOTE. We are open as normal today but road works continue to cause disruptions on Cardale Street. If you are visiting the play centre today please ask the road workers to let you through to access the car park.
