Former frontman of legendary Scottish band The Silencers, JJ Gilmour returns to the HAC for a very special evening of music and stories.

Expect songs drawn from his international gold-selling albums, alongside the well-crafted, humorous tales that have become a hallmark of his live shows. JJ will also preview material from his brand new album, soon to be recorded in Nashville at Secret Sound Studios, working with acclaimed producer Chas Sandford (Stevie Nicks, Willie Nelson, John Waite).

This marks JJ’s sixth solo album since leaving The Silencers, and his set will span 40 years as a recording artist, celebrating collaborations with some of the world’s finest musicians and producers.

JJ Gilmour's boutique songwriters festival, Butesong, returns on Fri 23rd & Sat 24th October 2026 at The Glenburn Hotel, Rothesay, Isle Of Bute.

This years line up features the wonderful Edinburgh singer songwriter Hamish Hawk, the fantastic Chris Helme (formerly of indie legends The Seahorses), the absolutely brilliant multi award winning Irish singer songwriter Gareth Dunlop, the outstanding Swiss Family Orbison (featuring members of Danny Wilson & Deacon Blue), the awesome Canadian songwriter & producer David Celia, and the wonderful all-female Scottish trio Alma.

Your host JJ Gilmour will also be performing, both solo, and with the ambient duo Caezar, alongside former Silencers bassist Joe Donnelly.
