We didn’t know about it either until last year when Deputy Mayor Kristina Richardson contacted us to support her in the quest to host a Christmas market and light switch on.

Captivated by her vision to bring free activities and events to this seaside town we naturally said yes.

This year that very same deputy is now THE mayor of Withernsea and once more we are hosting (on her behalf) a Christmas lights switch on, funfair and festive market to beat last year.

So if you’d like to support small, local and independent and may also want to dress up in Victorian garb, we encourage you to visit us on Saturday 5th December.

Small businesses are also invited to work with us as we line the street and Memorial Gardens with local independent business, market traders and more.

We will showcase candles, home made goods, jewellery, wooden and glass gifting, chocolate, pizza, sweets, soaps and body, Dutch pancakes, hog roast, gothic gifts, mulled w**e, 3d print, crochet, gin and vodka, burgers, dog treats, wreathes and more.

New banner installed at Hessle Town Council right outside the Town Hall itself.

This indoor community market is one of our newest and much loved events. And with 4 pretty gazebos outside it makes a visual compliment as these traders come from our Humber Bridge Farmers Market.

Not only is this one of the smallest events for us, but it is supported by so many that the vibe is wholesome and community spirited with locals mixing with local talent, makers, bakers, artisans and more.

The people of Hessle truly got behind the first one last month and whilst we have 2 more scheduled this year, we are already looking forward to a seasonal return next year with events planned for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

We also have large banners on Cemetery Rd and on the playing field fence of King Henry V school too and we thank those involved for permissions to erect, which can be a legal minefield - so thank you.
