The Ruddle Centre, Braithwell We are a community, leisure and sports facility located in the heart of Braithwell. Recently refurbished, fully decorated and with a new bar installed.

The Ruddle Centre has a welcoming,comfortable village bar for a quiet drink or a large party within or on the beautiful patio terrace overlooking the bowling green with our Church beyond

Bar open every Mon,Wed,Fri and Sunday

Private bookings taken The bar is open to all on Monday,Wednesday,and Friday evenings and Sundays from 2pm onward and the profits from this contribute greatly to the upkeep

We have a wonderful south facing two tier patio overlooking our top class bowling green with the Parish Church in the background. The patios have plenty of tables and chairs and even a water feature

Brick built large wood fired pizza oven

The hall can cater for up to 100 seated at round tables and we have plenty on the fields for marquees for the larger events

Our mission is simple - to be a premier venue for the benefit of the whole community. The Hall and Patio area is available for hire with preference give to residents of Braithwell and Micklebring

The field is also available to hire with parking. For all enquiries please indicate the purpose of the party, the likely numbers attending and whether or not the bar facility is needed

The Ruddle bar will be open from 3pm tomorrow.
The refurbishment work is not quite finished but we're nearly there.
Come and join us for a drink and a chat.

The Ruddle Centre will be closed for one week for refurbishment work with effect from tomorrow. The work is mainly the installation of new flooring in the entrance hall, corridor and baby changing toilet, together with redecorating those areas.

I would also like to take the opportunity to inform you of the plans for 2026.

The classic car and bike show is planned again for June and the Village Vibe Festival will take place on Saturday 1st August. These events were very successful in 2025 and your continuing support would be much appreciated.

The committee is made up of the following volunteers:
Kathy Horsfield, Dan Monro, Ellie Butcher, James Goodman, Jeff Lockhart (vice chairman and bookings officer) and Martin Beard (chairman). The committee is supported by our fantastic treasurer, Tracey Stewart. We are also very fortunate to have help from Nicole Smith, who offers her event management skills.

It is intended to submit a bid for lottery funding for a soft surfaced children's playground. It is planned for this to have a sloped solar panel canopy with the surface water run-off being used to irrigate the bowling green. Clearly the impact on local residents will be given high priority and their views will be taken into account.

We'll keep you all updated as things progress.
Please keep supporting the bar as this is our primary source of income, without which the facility could not function.
