Grow your business and grow local talent with South Yorkshire’s Wage Subsidy Programme✨

Rotherham employers can access talent and help young people step into work👣

The programme provides 13 weeks of wage support to help businesses grow while giving people aged 16 to 30 the experience, skills, and confidence to progress into sustained work💼

Employers must be a registered business or charity within South Yorkshire, have fewer than 250 employees, offer new roles expected to last more than six months, and provide up to five placements.

Employees must live in South Yorkshire, be eligible to work in the UK, and be a Pathways to Work participant receiving support. Employees can’t be employed or receiving job-seeking benefits.

The job role must be a new role, working a minimum of 16 hours per week, pay at least national minimum wage, provide employability support, and require basic training📑

The latest job start date of a participant based on current funding is Monday 30 November 2026.

The RiDO team had a fantastic time at yesterday's Chamber Means Business Expo at the New York Stadium, hosted by Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce

It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase RiDO's wide range of support available to businesses across Rotherham, from aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups to established businesses looking to grow and innovate. We were also proud to highlight some of the exciting economic regeneration development projects taking place across the borough, including the transformational Rotherham Gateway Station project. 🚆

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stands to chat with us. It was inspiring to meet so many passionate organisations and business owners all working to make our borough an even better place to live, work and invest. 📈
