Happy 9 years Mr Twigg!

Yes, we had a celebrant and that was our wedding day, but we celebrate BOTH our legal and wedding anniversary because .. why not.

Our legal day was cute, intimate and where we officially ticked the box. We had a little family get together with a meal at a cafe and we were home early evening. Gorgeous memories of an important legal day. 🩷

Just checking in everyone!

A few little reminders from your celebrant because there's enough to think about when you're planning your ceremony.

🌱 One of my absolute favourites.

A tree planting ceremony, I know I've mentioned it before as it’s a beautiful way of celebrating not just the marriage itself, but it is such a visual inclusion for any wedding. Especially for nature lovers.

For Maisie and George, the symbolism was even more personal (not just because they got engaged in the woods AND married outside surrounded by nature). They each brought soil from their family homes, carrying a little piece of where they had each come from. Together, they repotted it before planting their tree at their own home, a place where they’ll continue to put down roots and grow their life together.

A living representation of their journey so far: two separate beginnings, two families, two stories, now coming together to nurture something of their own. 🌿

Sooooo gorgeous. Just like them.

Also, a beautiful reminder that marriage isn’t just about the day you say I do but they also get to look at their beautiful tree as a reminder of everything that grows from it. AS LONG AS THEY WATER IT IN THIS HEAT 🤣

Are there any rituals or ceremonies that you've seen during a wedding ceremony or you're thinking of including in your own wedding? Let me know below!

POV: naming ceremomies aren't just for celebrating a birth, it's about celebrating identity, a chosen family, new beginnings, and the person someone is becoming.

My first ceremony as a celebrant was a naming ceremony and it was so beautiful, relaxed, a celebratory moment. Honouring the whole family along the way. There's so much to a naming ceremony, people compare them to a christening and I get it. But really they are about the person, their identity and their story. I love how religion can contribute to a naming ceremony because faith and culture is all part of someone's story if that is important. BUT it's not the only way to celebrate new beginnings.

I guess what I am saying is let's not overlook all aspects of naming ceremonies. They can be for celebrations of birth, but not just for birth.

If you want to talk about ideas for a naming ceremony, pop me a message. I am all ears!
