I was kindly given permission to share this, and it truly made my day when this photo came through. A 94-year-old gentleman still sending flowers to his wife after 68 years of marriage, how special is that? I’m sure they could teach us all a thing or two ❤️ Wishing a very happy anniversary to this wonderful couple!

Soft Pastel Charm
A beautifully balanced bouquet, this arrangement weaves together a delicate blend of pastel blooms in shades of blush, ivory, and gentle green. At its heart are the creamy petals of Peony ‘Immaculee’, complemented by the graceful spires of white snapdragons and the softly ruffled Garden Rose ‘Peony Pink’. Two-tone pink dahlias add a subtle depth, while the fresh, lime-green clusters of Alchemilla Mollis lend a light, airy contrast. Billowing white Verena hydrangea brings volume and elegance, harmonising with the warm tones of the Garden Rose ‘Pink Xpression’. Wisps of asparagus fern add softness and texture, while the silvery-green leaves of Populus eucalyptus trail through the bouquet, infusing it with gentle movement and natural grace.

This design was created for an intimate wedding in the private dining room at Vermillion in Manchester.

The groom popped into the shop and FaceTimed his bride-to-be, who lives in the Midlands, so she could be part of the process too. They shared their ideas, showed me a photo of the venue, and then gave me the freedom to design something special for their day.

We chose a bold palette of hot pinks and warm amber tones to complement the room’s decor, with a pop of apple green to bring everything to life.

The flowers included salmon hydrangea, apple green guelder rose, and a stuuning mix of garden roses - Windsor Charme, Mayfield, and Southpark. We added striking tango pincushion protea, soft lilac limonium for contrast, Rosita lisianthus, Pink Floyd Ecuadorian roses, and Avignon snapdragons, all woven through with layers of lush, textured foliage.

It was such a pleasure to turn their love story into flowers.
