One of the benefits of working from home is that I get to wear socks & clogs which is one of my most favourite things to wear 😂

& peacefully making bouquets is one of the most satisfying experiences.

Everything smells so amazing down here this evening. I’ve been making table centres for a party, and they’re so fresh & full of good old fashioned roses. I’m smiling.

Good evening! 🌷

I didn’t make it down into the workshop until much later than planned, but this is how I condition the flowers that arrive at my back door each week:

- Fresh buckets of cold water

- Using a rose stripper to remove thorns

- Keeping offcuts and broken stems for smaller designs

- Cutting stems at an angle

- Removing lower leaves

- Getting everything into fresh water and clean buckets as quickly as possible

It’s a simple process, but it makes such a difference to vase life and flower longevity.

So grateful for all new followers this week, I can’t wait to share more from this little flower workshop with you 😀

Tonight it’s just me, a cup of tea and a few off-cuts in jars. The floors have been swept & the buckets cleaned and I’m a happy florist.
