As clubs go on their end of season tours, a little reminder from the 1980s of a Brewers' trip to N Wales, when an extra 'body' strangely found his way back onto our own Rhymney RFC ex-Parfitts coach! Dean Theobald and Steve Jones greeted him warmly, but sadly the police caught up with him in mid-Wales and he never played for us. A bit fishy!! Also sadly, just count how many of these 'Junior Union' teams from 60 years back no longer exist either at first or second team level: including the Brewers' own sorely-missed Athletic XV.
