Just a happy accident 💙💕

There’s so many gorgeous flowers to choose from right now, making bouquets is a pleasure.

FYI I did have to get changed before delivering, no one wants me with my mucky knees out standing on their doorstep.

I am swimming through flowers at the moment, with the warm spells we’ve had, the field has just burst into life and I’m excited to share the events coming up this month…

firstly - Creake Abbey farmers market on 6th June.
9:30am - 1pm - I’ll be filling my stall with the best of the field so do come along and bag a bunch.

then - 20th June - my first PYO event at the farm.
This is in celebration of British Flowers Week 15th -21st June and I’m ready to shout about the benefits of choosing flowers grown here in the UK and invite you to come and explore the flowers yourself.

Finally - 27th June - a wonderful workshop in Salle village.
Come and emerge yourself in flowers with me. There will be a generous bucket of blooms waiting for all attendees and no rules to follow. You’ll be invited to create as you wish and I can’t wait to see the results. Obviously there’s cake too!

Tickets are available for PYO and workshops on my website.

If these are well received, there’ll be more to come.

Including our first….

PYO event to celebrate British Flowers Week
Saturday 20th June 10am - 1pm - £10 - £40

Choose from a jar or bucket to fill with beautiful blooms as you wander through the flower beds.
Verdant Flower Farm, Salle, NR10 4SB

Then

A wonderful, seasonal flower workshop
Saturday 27th June 10am - 12noon - £60

A generous bucket of flowers, cake and drinks will be waiting for each attendee. We’ll spend the morning together, building bouquets and enjoying the best the season can offer.

I’ve recently joined and am thrilled to be part of this network of growers that spans the UK.

Flowers from the Farm is an award-winning, not-for-profit trade association that champions independent, small-scale growers of local, seasonal, and sustainable British cut flowers.

If you’re looking for flowers grown in your area, their website has a fantastic map feature to connect you with the people doing just that.

May has been a busy month on the flower farm.

Everything is bursting into life,
And there’s tonnes to plant out, tend, cut and plan.

I’m planning something new to take the place of my weekend farmers markets schedule.

There’s nothing set in stone just yet and I won’t be stopping all my market locations, but if you’re keen to know what’s coming next - join my mailing list.

Display tip!

Both of these vases contain the same bouquet - The same number of stems and cut the same length. The only difference is the glassware.

Make the most of your blooms by giving them space in the vase. Choose something that is wider at the base than at the neck for bouncy bouquets full of movement.

Normal I’m seedling greedy, a firm believer in equal opportunities for all those little shoots.

But I was flush with seed for these trays of cosmos, so snipping these guys will save me some time.

Since they had the chop, the single seedlings are doing brilliantly.
