The same Reading pizza you already know and love, now fully halal and under a fresh name. Same kitchen, same recipes, same stone baked finish. Plus our Angus smashed burgers, loaded fries and sides.

A highly rated pizza takeaway in Reading has reopened under new ownership.

Dough Bros in Northumberland Avenue built a reputation for Italian-style pizzas when it opened in March 2024.

The owners Max Brian-Boys and Robbie Waldron were able to receive glowing reviews for their pizzas on food websites, with an average score of 4.7/5 from TripAdvisor.

However, the business closed in December last year.

A month later it reopened as Doughza.

The takeaway website states: “Welcome to Doughza – Dough Bros Rebranded, your local home for artisan pizza, smashed burgers and satisfying sides in Whitley, Reading.

“Our pizzas are made using the recipes that local customers already know and love, with carefully prepared dough, quality ingredients and a proper stone-baked finish.

“Alongside our pizzas, we serve freshly cooked Angus beef smashed burgers, crispy chicken favourites, loaded fries and sides that are perfect for sharing.

“Whether you are ordering a quick takeaway, picking up dinner for the family or treating yourself to something indulgent, our aim is simple: serve delicious food, made fresh, with friendly local service.

“Artisan Pizza. Smashed Burgers. Made Fresh.”

It is understood that one of the changes made is the exclusive use of halal-certified ingredients.

The takeaway was shuttered when the Local Democracy Reporting Service passed there before 9am on Friday, June 19.

Doughza is open from 3pm to 10pn Sunday to Thursday, and 3pm to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
