Did you know that as well as daily wedding and civil partnership ceremonies our Town Hall Ceremony Room is also host to on average 50 new British Citizens per week who pledge their allegiance to the King during the Nationalisation Ceremony? 🇬🇧

It is our honour and privilege to host our guests and welcome them as Reading’s latest valued citizens, a town rich in diverse culture and history.

A new register office has opened at the Civic Centre

Our First Wedding at the Newly Renovated Reading Register Office!

A huge congratulations to Mr and Mrs Noonan (pictured), our first happy couple to be married in the newly refurbished Reading Borough Council’s Civic Centre on Bridge Street.

Having already celebrated their wedding in the bride’s home of Mauritius in 2022, today marks the official legal marriage for the Noonan’s in an intimate ceremony alongside their two witnesses. We are delighted they chose us for this special moment and wish them a lifetime of happiness.

You can now legally form a civil marriage or civil partnership in our modern and stylish Register Office from just £56. These statutory ceremonies take place on Tuesday mornings, with the couple and their two legal witnesses, presided over by a registrar.

Reading Registration Service also offer a variety of ceremony rooms at Reading Town Hall, and other authorised venues across borough catering from 2 to 700 guests on any day of the week. See our website for more information: https://www.reading.gov.uk/life-events/ceremonies/

We have contacted all couples whose Register Office ceremonies have been transferred to the Civic Centre. If you have not been contacted, your ceremony will proceed at the original Town Hall Venue.

Nestled in the beautiful, leafy surroundings of Prospect Park, the regency style Mansion House offers a stunning backdrop with views over the park, making it a perfect choice for your big day. With ample parking, it’s easy for you and your guests to arrive and celebrate in style. Mansion House will also provide you with your very own ceremony coordinator and have on-site catering facilities.

Choose from a spacious ceremony and reception rooms upstairs with scenic views over Reading, a cosy setting for smaller, intimate ceremonies, or even say “I do” on the external terraces with the great outdoors as your witness.

You can now book your Notice of Marriage or Civil Partnership appointment online! If you’ve lived within the Reading Borough for the past 8 days, visit our website and secure your slot quickly and easily. You can also pre-upload your documents for approval ahead of your appointment time.

You will both be required to give your legal notice at least 29 days ahead of your ceremony with your local council. Notices are valid for 1 year for the venue that you specify at time of the appointment. Usual fees apply: £42 per person or £57 if Home Office Referral is required. Foreign Divorce Checking fees may also apply. For more information about the requirements of giving notice and which documents you will need to provide please visit our website.

Last weekend we had the absolute pleasure of hosting the beautiful wedding of Rebecca and Gary at Reading Town Hall.

After their heartfelt ceremony, the couple headed to the iconic Abbey Ruins, situated right on our doorstep for some truly stunning photos, captured by the talented Eye Imagine Photography

Rebecca looked effortlessly cool in her unique lavender wildflower dress and stylish white trainers, while Gary was the picture of happiness by her side.

The celebration continued at the cozy .vita_bar , where guests enjoyed an evening of love, laughter, and Italian delights.
