This is how you should enter your wedding reception.

Danielle & Darren’s wedding reception entrance during their black-tie wedding at The Orangery Maidstone is how all entrances should be- laughter, celebration, joy and admiration.

As the walked through their friends and family all waving napkins and cheering, they laughed together in one of the stand-out moments from their special day.

This is the bit that never makes the mood boards.

The unfiltered, full-volume, completely unapologetic version of you having the best night of your life.

If your wedding is meant to feel like a celebration, it should look like one too. The best moments aren’t the curated, the posed or the forced. It’s moments like these- the ones with heart, with emotion- with passion.

Just after their personalised fireworks display, Caroline turns to her adoring friends and family and screams ‘we just got married’- to which she receives a massive cheer and applause.

No gimmicks. No staging. Pure feeling.

That’s what weddings are about.

Beautiful editorial couple moments at The Orangery Maidstone.

This moment between Danielle & Darren, taken from their wedding film teaser with an editorial white-tuxedo aesthetic, is why I love filming weddings at The Orangery Maidstone.

With immaculate grounds and stunning backdrops, The Orangery is one of the best venues in Kent and the UK- perfectly suited to the kind of black-tie wedding styling that Danielle and Darren chose for their special day.

My first wedding of 2026, captured with both wedding photography and videography, and what a wedding it was. An entire day filled with stunning moments just like this.

Intimate moments that echo through a lifetime.

If you’ve followed me for a while you’re probably sick of me talking about authenticity and the natural moments on a wedding day, however I truly believe it’s one of the biggest differentiators when it comes to your wedding films and photos.

Take this shot of Ellis and Jake as an example- If I told you to look at your partner, you would probably burst out laughing or, even worse, you would feel awkward. So, instead of that, I prefer to place you in comfortable positions where your personalities and natural rapport with each other can shine.

It’s also not just ‘what is happening’ in the frame, but ‘how is it happening’. This frame isn’t special because Ellis is looking at Jake- it’s special because of HOW Ellis is looking at Jake.

It’s a subtle difference, but one that is oh so important in wedding photography and videography.

Luxury black-tie editorial wedding inspiration 🖤🤍

I absolutely love this moment between Danielle and Darren at The Orangery Maidstone during their white tuxedo inspired black-tie wedding day. A simple moment as Darren leads Danielle down the steps into the formal gardens, it carries so much elegance and class.

As a wedding videographer and photographer, I’m always keen to show that beautiful moments in photo and film don’t have to be over-worked or over-staged. By using cinematic and editorial framing, the elegance comes from less- not more.

The kind of joy that doesn’t ask permission.

A personalised detail, a packed room, and the exact energy you hoped your wedding would have when you pictured it. This is why I keep filming long after the formalities are done.

I’ve always loved capturing dance floors during wedding celebrations- the elevation, energy and interactions are perfect for creating wedding films, especially for those high-energy moments.

Intimate moments and details- a wedding film must-have.

The little moments and details during a wedding day, I believe, are perhaps more important than the big, stand-out moments.

The detailing on a dress, a hand-hold, a look- these are the moments that evoke emotion and are what immerse you in the experience of your wedding films and photos.

It’s something my team and I understand and we spend a large majority of our day looking for exactly these moments. It’s tricky because they’re little interactions most people would miss- luckily however, we aren’t most people.

With my wedding photography and videography team we tirelessly hunt for these moments so that we can tell a cohesive story in both stills and moving frames.

Iconic Champagne celebrations 🖤🤍

Editorial wedding photos don’t get much more iconic than this- a black and white moment of Danielle spraying Champagne from the bottle during their black-tie wedding day at The Orangery Maidstone.

I always say to my couples that no matter what you do on your wedding day, you have to do it your way. Confetti, Champagne towers, sparklers and fireworks are all amazing, but you have to be yourselves and do it you way for it to look and feel authentic.

This is authentic Danielle & Darren- an editorial wedding moment that perfectly sums them up as a couple. It’s one of my favourite moments from their wedding gallery 🖤🤍

Black-tie elegance at a Leez Priory wedding in Essex.

I’m a lover of simple moments in a wedding film, just like with Rachel & Canol here during their black-tie wedding at Leez Priory.

No big overworked scene, no special curation or direction, just you being you on the best day of your life.

The perfection is in the inbetween.

Sometimes during a wedding day it’s the unplanned moments that resonate the most. It’s the uncontrollable belly-laugh, the holding of a hand or the catching of an eye that can really take you back to that moment and allow you to feel it all again.

I love using editorial and cinematic framing to tell a story. I can expose a scene properly, angle my subject so they look incredible on my screen, and I can guide and offer advice on what would make things look aesthetically amazing.

However I’m always looking for little moments like these, because they are totally uncontrollable. As a wedding filmmaker and photographer you have to watch carefully, envisage how a moment will play out and who is likely to do what, so that you are ready to capture the natural and beautiful moments that unfold amidst interactions.

No amount of lighting, equipment, training or money can teach you that. You just inherently have to follow your gut and intuition, trusting in your skill as a wedding videographer and storyteller. It’s what separates the goods from the greats.

I love this little moment from our inspirational wedding shoot with Jess & Connor.

Sunsets, backdrops, and whispers of sweet nothings- is there anything better?

As if hosting your wedding day at your own private castle overlooking the beautiful Kentish coastline wasn’t special enough, how about adding in a stunning sunset with a view? That’s exactly what Grace & Ben had as they enjoyed a few moments together at Kingsgate Castle as the watched the sun setting across the ocean- the perfect end to the perfect day.
