Coming into the New Year, if you’re thinking about updating your business headshots or your modelling portfolio, now is the perfect time to do it.

This is Lucas, who came in earlier late last year to refresh his modelling portfolio. We shoot loads of these, and I know exactly what agencies want to see: clean, simple images on plain backgrounds that show your look and your personality properly.

If you’re looking to get into modelling, We offer mini sessions that give you the shots you need to send to your agency, without the massive price tag some agencies try to push for a portfolio. There’s no hard sell and no pressure to buy more than you need. You can simply choose what works for your agent.

You’re also welcome to share your proofing gallery with your agent first, so they can help you pick the images you want us to finish for your portfolio.

Possibly the smiliest baby of last year 🥰

Violet absolutely stole the show. When she smiled, the whole room smiled with her. This time we also managed to get mum and dad in front of the camera, which made it even more special. The three of them together were just gorgeous.

There was nothing Violet didn’t love.

From start to finish, she was perfection. These sessions are always such a joy, and it’s lovely to capture not just the milestone, but the family at this stage too.

Thank you so much to all of our lovely Level 11 family this year! We have had an amazing 2025!

Honestly the start wasn’t what we expected but we have had an all clear with Russ’s 6 month cancer check! Which just makes this New Year even better!

We can’t wait to see you all again in 2026! And all those new babies arriving in 2026! I can’t wait to meet you!

Introducing Marley 🤍

There’s often a sharp intake of breath in the newborn photography world when someone mentions older babies. That in-between stage when babies are no longer tiny, scrunched newborns but not quite sitting yet.

From around a month old, babies start to stretch out, stay awake longer, and give up those deep, sleepy cuddles. For some studios, that feels tricky. For us, it really doesn’t.

Because there are two of us in the session, it gives us more flexibility, more safety, and more ways to work with your baby exactly as they are. Sometimes we still get sleepy moments, but more often it’s lovely tummy time, little wiggles, bright eyes and the most gorgeous expressions. Honestly, we love these sessions.

Marley wasn’t able to come in during the classic newborn window, so we waited and welcomed him in for an older newborn session instead. We captured beautiful images of him with his big brother and with mum and dad – full of personality, connection and real moments. They’re just as special as any newborn photos.

So if you feel you’ve missed your newborn session, please don’t panic. You may have missed one style of session, but you absolutely haven’t missed the chance to have stunning images of your baby.

Our older baby (little sitter) sessions are perfect from around one month old, right up to the first birthday – whether your baby is wriggly, alert, or already sitting.

Welcome to the world, Eliza 🤍

I absolutely love this name. Eliza feels like one of those timeless, old fashioned, beautifully elegant names that never goes out of style.

Mum and Dad chose green for her session and I was so happy because green is one of my favourite colours to photograph babies on. It suits boys and girls, it can feel earthy and natural, or soft and light depending on the tone, and honestly… I’ve got every green you can imagine at the studio. Light green, sage green, deep dark green… you name it, I’ve got a green for you 💚

Eliza was such a little poppet too. Wide awake for most of her shoot, taking everything in, and giving us the most gorgeous expressions. Just look at her 😍

Willow is back 🎂🛁

I first met Willow when she was just a few months old, and she came back in before Christmas for her cake smash. She is such a pretty little thing… but the moment that cake lands in front of her, she turns into an absolute terror 😄

And I love it. Give me a proper manic cake smash any day. The bigger the mess, the better the photos, and Willow did not disappoint. Then she finished it all off with the splash, and she loved the bath just as much as the cake, as you can see.

My diary is really busy for cake smashes, and January is already almost full for newborns too. If you are thinking about a cake smash for your baby’s first birthday, I would book sooner rather than later.

I’m officially in that in between bit where we’re closed for Christmas and New Year… and I’m itching to share loads of gorgeous newborn sessions I didn’t get chance to post in the run up to Christmas 🎄

It’s just me and Russ here at Level 11, and when we’re in full swing with shoots, editing and orders, social media can be the first thing that slips. So over the next week or so I’m going to be sharing some of my favourite sessions from last year… starting with this beautiful little one 🥰

Last year was very much about neutrals. So many parents asked for simple, clean, timeless setups, and I absolutely loved it. And family photos have been a huge one too… honestly, those images with mum and dad are always the ones people treasure most.

This little girl came in with her mum and dad before Christmas and she was an absolute dream. And yes… she’s completely gorgeous, just like her Mummy and Daddy 🤍

Our Ramsgate studio is in a wonderful old Edwardian arch on the quay overlooking the Royal Harbour. We specialise in providing fun, relaxed portrait sessions for people who hate being photographed - you’ll enjoy the experience and love the photos as a result! In the privacy of our child-and-dog friendly studio, we shoot creative family portrait sessions, kids of all ages, maternity sessions, newborns (we even offer a package which covers maternity through to first birthday) pets (we love dogs!) and model portfolios, actors headshots and business-to-business services.

We’re an easy-going, professional husband and wife team with 20 years experience - we know all the tricks to get the best photos from over-excited dogs, shy kids and grumpy dads who’re ‘missing the football for this!’

We’re located amongst bars and restaurants and nearby the beach - Ramsgate’s pretty kick-ass right now, so why not make a day of it?
