A very warm welcome to Andrew Baker who is racing his yacht Xray II for the first time as owner in Ramsgate Week. Here is what he had to say,
“I am a member of Medway Yacht Club and also the Royal Temple. I sailed for a few years at Ramsgate on Silver Spirit, Wavetrain and Ghost Train in the 1990s and also sailed on a Medway boat a DB1 called Speak Easy. I had a Sonata for 13 years and then for the last 7 years a Beneteau 31.7 called Xray which often spent the winter in Ramsgate.
I purchased Xray II in May from the Hamble and this will be our second regatta in the new boat.
I raced Xray on the Medway and with EAORA on the East Coast and to Belgium and Holland. Although I have sailed in Ramsgate Week a few times before this is the first time in my own boat.”
