Fingask Friday Flower - Buddleia - the butterfly bush - pictured at Fingask with a Red Admiral Butterfly. Carl Linnaeus the famous Swedish botanist, who created our binomial system of naming living things, named the plant in honour of botanist Adam Buddle. It thrives in poor dry soils and can handle extreme urban pollution, after the WWII in Britain it was well known as the bombsite plant as it naturally colonised the ruined city's rubble and bombed areas bringing colour and life to grey landscapes.

Fingask Friday Flower - the Sweet Pea - Henry Eckford, known as the father of sweet peas, was credited with transforming the sweet pea from a wild Mediterranean flower into a glorious sweet smelling coloured garden sensation!
The more you cut the more you get - we love sweet peas and cherish our historic connection with Henry Eckford who grew sweet peas at Fingask - he would be pleased to see how Natalie is continuing the tradition in our beautiful walled garden where Laura and Natalie grow our wedding flowers

Patrice Little Photography had these lovely comments to say about Fingask Castle after shooting here in late 2025. 📸💍✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fingask Castle is one of those venues that feels timeless the moment you arrive. As a wedding photographer, it’s an absolute joy to work in — full of character, soft natural light, and beautifully kept grounds that allow moments to unfold naturally rather than feeling staged.
I recently photographed a wedding here and the atmosphere throughout the day was effortless and relaxed. From the historic interiors to the gardens, Fingask offers so many opportunities for honest, emotional photography without ever needing to rush couples away from their guests.
It’s a wonderful choice for couples planning a romantic, elegant wedding in Perthshire and works especially well for those who value atmosphere, connection, and a calm flow to their day. A truly special place to celebrate.

Fingask Friday Flower - the Evening Primrose - Oenothera biennis - Famous for its night-blooming habits, the flowers open at dusk and close by mid-morning. It thrives at Fingask on our terrace and appears, as if by magic, at the end of June - it emits a delicate fragrance that attracts night time pollinators eg moths.
