We are delighted to share details of British Curling's upcoming Paralympic Recruitment events for the 2025 – 2026 season!

🥌 Female Only UK-wide Recruitment Event this coming Monday 8th September 2025, hosted at the Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre, Preston
🥌 Scotland-wide Recruitment event Monday 22nd September, hosted at the National Curling Academy, Stirling (both males and females welcome)
🥌 England-wide Recruitment event (in partnership with Wheelpower) Wednesday 1st October, hosted at Tunbridge Wells Curling Rink, Kent (both males and females welcome).

A reminder to members that the WCA AGM will take place on Monday 12th May 7pm at Ty Calon Community Centre. This will be followed by the FPOW AGM. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Here is Andrew’s last shot of the extra end against Netherlands. They had to go through a port (one guard is out of camera sight) to hit and stay. Netherlands then followed it but rolled out leaving the yellow in the 8 foot to win the game.

Wales closed the 2025 World Senior Championships with a hard fought win over Netherlands. In a game of 2 halves, Wales took a 5-0 lead before Netherlands took the lead in the 7th end 6-5. Wales took 1 in the eighth to force the extra end and after a tense battle the Netherlands were sitting one on the button with 2 shots to go. Wales hit and stuck with their last stone leaving the Netherlands a difficult shot to hit and stay for the win. The hit was made but the Netherlands rolled out allowing Wales to take the single to win 7-6!

Final group standings to be decided tomorrow in the last group games but Wales are likely to finish 4th in the group. Many thanks for all the messages of support for the team and to The Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre for their sponsorship.

A difficult game against Portugal where Wales struggled to get into the game. After winning the hammer in the first end, Wales were forced to a one. Portugal dominated the following ends to take a 5-1 lead and Wales couldn’t respond with Portugal running out eventually winners.

The team’s final match is against Netherlands at 20:00 BST on Wednesday.

A tough game against Canada. Wales took the hammer in the first end but couldn’t convert the advantage to points. Whilst there were some great shots from Wales to take a single and then a steal another single, Canada powered through to win 11-2.

Next match is Portugal at 20:00 BST.

A terrific last stone from Welsh skipper Andrew in yesterday's match against Ireland to score 1 and finish the game 8-5. Wales are now on a 1W - 2L record and play Canada and Portugal today. Thank you to ECA English Curling Association ladies for the live updates and video!

A good Welsh performance against old friends Ireland. Ireland were 4-3 up at the interval but Wales took a two and stole a two to be in the driving seat for the latter stages of the game. A force of one in the seventh end gave Wales a two shot cushion going into the final end, and Wales closed the game out 8-5.

Next game is Canada at 12:00 BST.

After a tough start Wales were down 4-0. But a 3 and a force of 1 put Wales behind 3-5 at the half time break. Another 3 and an exchange of singles meant Wales were 7-6 up going into the final end but a great setup couldn’t be converted into a steal and Belgium came out winners 8-7.

Next game is Ireland at 20:00 BST.

Wales had a good start but didn’t cope very well with swingy ice conditions. England replied strongly and whilst Wales rallied in the second half England capitalised on Wales gambling in the 7th end to close out the game.

The next game is at midnight BST on Monday 28th.
