This is NOT the kind of post I enjoy writing.
Infact, it breaks my heart 💔
The love, time, effort and expense that I put into this little venue is immesurable.
Yes, we have basic rules we ask our guests to adhere to. One of our requests is that children are supervised at all times, and we ask that our belongings and furnishings are treated with respect whilst here. The golden rule in the party room ● Please put dress up and props in boxes provided when finished with them, not thrown on the floor to be trampled on, and please don't use inflatable props as weapons. ■ This is simply because our dress up and props are NOT cheap, the inflatables if misuesed can cause injury (hitting each other with them) if dress up is trampled all over, they are not fit for use in the following party. EVERY tutu, hat, wig etc is sprayed with sanitiser between party's so they are clean and usable in the next party.
● We also ask that napkins are used when eating from the chocolate fondue for obvious reasons. The photo's attached are from a recent party, which looks "relatively ok" AFTER we had picked up all the cushions and chocolate covered tutus from the floor. 7 large inflatables were burst. 5 tutus ripped beyond repair, 6 hats thrown away, seating covered in chocolate, candy cart broken, lolly stand broken with lollys thrown allover, sequin wall damaged and display balloons popped 😩 Now to some, this may not be a big deal. However, with 45 minutes to turn partys around and the added expense incurred it is a big deal. I have NEVER had to charge a fee for breakages before, which is set out in our T&C's and I won't be doing so on this occasion. I will however be re thinking the party room, which is such a shame as generally our basic requests are met. It's times like this where I feel it's time to close the doors. I've worked so bloody hard to create what we have, and hate feeling this way. Any implemented changes will not affect partys currently booked, however going forward changes will sadly be put in place. Not entierly sure what these will be as yet, I intend to keep the experience as enjoyable as possible. I do agree "kids will be kids" but we are NOT a play centre, it clearly states this on the website and in our T&C's. We are a space where after the spa / pamper part of the party, all can enjoy a sing, dance and have fun with dress up and props for those memory photos ~ treating our venue this way is just NOT acceptable 😔
