The Proto-Shield. Not Historical but will take a battering. 1 ⅜" thickness, 22" diameter. 18 ply construction with 3" Faux Planking on both faces. Celtic cross carved into front face. Finished in a simple burnt resin-lacquer finish for a hard-wearing, easy to maintain finish.
Late Reproduction Steel centre boss on the front.
Centre grip integrated into "reinforcing" spine with recessed knuckle relief. Still requires leather bucket and grip wrap to be installed. Undecided on edging band at this point.
Current weight 4.6kg..
