It’s almost a year ago now when we met for the first time, and at a convenient time too as they were just about to reintroduce oysters into the River Hamble at Warsash!

What followed was a great couple of days, filming both the cleaning of the oysters and their release back into the river. A really great way to bring the community together and help the local environment.

When we were asked us to shoot ‘The Trinity Test: 80 Years On’ event that was taking place over several days, we jumped at the opportunity, and what a fantastic time it was.

We were on the ground as we captured the talks, workshops, artworks and performances and to capture the atmosphere, ideas and conversations that make each event distinctive.

The whole event and the subsequent video examined the imagery of the mushroom cloud and reflected on the history, legacy and ongoing impact of the world’s first nuclear test on its 80th anniversary.

Last weekend marked the last event in this run of , a city-wide arts trail ran by .

Marked a full circle moment for us - we were back filming in the beautiful Storehouse 9 where we started the event's promotional campaign, filming testimonies with a fantastic cohort of artists.

Shout out to these legends who sat in the Hot Seat to talk about their POSE Experience with us!

Perhaps one of the most visually exciting pieces we’ve got to work on, A Sea of Words for Portsmouth was a great opportunity for us to make a film that shows the feeling of visiting the exhibition. It was important to us that we created a film that felt like an extension of the artwork itself. We filmed the workshops with community groups, adopting an adaptable yet stylistically consistent approach.

This film was commissioned as part of a large-scale immersive experience by acclaimed Hong Kong artists Kingsley Ng and Stephanie Cheung.

You may have spotted this pop up over the past couple of weeks. We’re very proud of the work we’ve done with for their mother’s day advertising content.

We really wanted to make a bit more of an emotional piece with this one, something that would resonate with Mothers & Daughters and show the feeling of a day out like this.

12% of the way through 2026!

We’ve been making the most of it - starting the year with filming at the Portsmouth 100 launch. going into filming with start-ups and established businesses, content creation days across the country, and pulling everything together in the edit suite.

Not bad for the first month! 🎆

Tree-People, Robots, Oysters and a million and one coffee meets.

2025 was a year of adventures for Port of Call Media, and the next twelve months are set to be even bigger.

We started this year as a boutique studio with strong local roots, and ended it with a national reach for work we couldn't have imagined.

This is our moment to remember the year gone, and give thanks to our clients, collaborators, family and friends who have supported us throughout.

Your backing and trust means more than you can know.

Happy New Year! 🎉

Congratulations to Elena Gliebute for her new installation down on Southsea Seafront. Lithuanian Folklore and Pagan Gods in the Windbreaks.

We were down the seafront on a bright Wednesday morning documenting the changeover for Portsmouth City Council - and we loved having a chance to speak to Elena about her work.

The new Marker Revealed! ✨

Fifty years ago, John Maine RA created a series of sculptures marking the seafront of Southsea. Fifty years later, Portsmouth City Council asked him to return to the project, to create a new marker on the rebuilt seafront.

We were made up to meet John, and speak to him about his works. Our film about this new installation is showing on the Big Screen in Guildhall Square this week!

The Portsmouth Marker 2025 was commissioned by Portsmouth City Council, funded through support from Arts Council England.

Huge thanks to Harry Scott for bringing us on board with this project.

The 16th of July marks eighty years since the first test of the Atomic Bomb.

To mark this historic occasion we joined the University of Portsmouth for a multi-day, multi-disciplinary series of talks, workshops and performances exploring its history and ongoing impact.

With a project like this, we wanted to make sure the video of the event felt like the event itself - powerful, thought provoking, and maybe a little bit terrifying.

Videos for academic projects can keep the conversations going long after the event ends.
