It's time to say goodbye and close the DMC doors. Thank you so much for all the fabulous support from everyone I have met over the past 5 years. From my lovely pre school group, to adult workshops and birthday parties and my home ed group - I have loved every single moment and feel like it has been a real honour for our paths to have crossed. I'm moving onto pastures new but hope to see you all around 😃

This week at Home Ed Art Group, children painted their clay Alebrije inspired by the Mexican artist Pedro Linares. Alebrijes are fantastical animals that came to Linares during hallucinations brought on by illness. They are a combination of animals in one, such as a dog's head, snake body, monkey tail and rabbit ears. Some newer alebrijes are made up of just one animal.

I absolutely love this llama....if you've ever tried drawing one, you'll know how tricky it is to get the eyes right. I think these are spot on....and show the llamas character 🦙🥰

This week at Home Ed Art Group we looked at Molas from Panama. The Mola or Molas is a hand-made textile that forms part of the traditional women's clothing of the indigenous Guna people from Panamá and Colombia, South America. We created ourselves with paper and pens and I think the results are pretty fantastic. From children age 4 - 11.
