Isle of Skye Events Skye Events organises triathlons, half marathons, 10K, 5K and fun runs for all abilities and charity!

Skye Events is an organisation who's objectives is to promote Sports events around the Isle of Skye and Scotland. We do this by providing professional financial and marketing services to existing or new sports events. We provide business plans, financial projects and professional event marketing services. We increase event capacity, revenue and their contribution to local economy. As part of our ethos we also donate funds generated from our events to local charities and community groups.

Good grief… it’s that time of year again – the Skye Events AGM on Thursday 12th March at 7pm.

Everyone is warmly welcome to come along, hear what we’ve been up to, how the year’s gone, and how you can get involved.

We’re always looking for new Trustees or Committee Members to join our small, friendly team. If you’re thinking you wouldn’t have anything to offer, we promise you do – and we’d genuinely love to hear from you. We simply couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers, who help deliver our races and raise funds for local community groups and charities.

You’ll meet inspiring people, enjoy race day, and make a real difference in our community.

🙌 Volunteers Needed – Be Part of Athletics in Scotland! 🏃‍♀️🏅

Could you help make our local Skye Event races and events happen?
Officials are the heartbeat of athletics, and we’re looking for new volunteers to join the team.

No experience needed — just enthusiasm! There are lots of roles, from timekeeping and finish judging to course support and event set-up. You’ll be supported, trained, and become part of a brilliant community helping our own athletes and visiting athletes reach their potential.

Sad news has reached us from across the water in Uist with the passing of Angus Nicolson.

Angus was a firm favourite with the Skye Events team, having run the Skye Half Marathon an incredible 12 times. His last run with us was in 2019 — his 499th race, achieved at the young age of 82. Just two weeks after, he completed his 500th race at the Barrathon.

A true legend, Angus was the quintessental Highlander — a real gentleman, clever, funny, humble, full of genuine warmth, with an infectious zest for life. He showed us all that age is just a number and never a barrier to living life to the full.

He will be very much missed, but his was truly a life well lived. We wish him Godspeed on his final journey today, and hope that our dear neighbours across the water are raising many a dram and retelling the old tales.

Skye Events wouldn’t exist without the incredible people behind the scenes. From marshalling on race day, to helping shape events on our committee, to supporting the future of Skye Events as part of our Board of Trustees — every role plays a part in bringing something special to the island.

Merry Christmas from the whole team at Skye Events! 🎄✨

What a year it’s been! We’re feeling extra festive knowing that our amazing followers, runners, and volunteers helped us raise £8,000 for local community charities this year! 🏆🙌

To our athletes and friends: you are the heart of everything we do. It’s a privilege to support your fitness and health journeys while giving back to the community we love. 🏃‍♂️🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️
