The Hanbury sits on old Templar tunnels, was a former Coroners Court & Morgue and also a Place of Ex*****on where people hanged for their crimes.
The original hanging beam is still visible to this day at the entrance to the cellar.
It is now home to Tracey & Nigel Turner owners of Lost Entity Paranormal and their haunted object collection.
It is not only famous for the incredible history but paranormal activity which has featured in many news articles in recent times. Staff and visitors alike experiencing ghostly phenomenon over the years including workmen downing tools and leaving after feeling icy cold temperature drops and an oppressive feeling.

𝗚𝗛𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗟𝗬 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗬
The Hanbury Arms is home to many spirits and ghosts and we can now say with certainty that the main energy here is a " Shapeshifting Entity" / an Elemental Spirit.
After living and working here with our paranormal background, opinions of others in our field and our wonderful guests experiences and documentation we can now say with much conviction that this entity will be the main energy we work with in regards to the safety of everyone living, visiting and working at the Hanbury.
Respect is key!
This particular energy is happy that Tracey & Nigel are protecting the land, history and importance of such a building, bringing very strong powerful positive energy to the land and area in general.
These types of Entities have many names but ultimately are non human and are sometimes malevolent in nature if disrespected or quite helpful and very protective over their land- In this case the powerful triangular piece of land and crossroads the Hanbury sits on ( This entity - " Imp" has been experienced many times and actually recorded by guests while filming in The Black Widow room) It sometimes appears as dog shaped/ pig shaped/small human shaped , very often bounding across the roof of the Victorian Parlour which sits on top of the Medieval cellars and alongside The Black Widow room on " Hangman's Landing" And seen on the SLS camera crawling out of the attic above that area.
𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗦 - The Old Crone/Witch " Freddie " a little boy dressed in Victorian clothing who is seen regularly by people living opposite looking through the upstairs windows , "Emily "a young well spoken Lady who seems to be surrounded by many small children, " Mary" that legend says is buried in our cellar, a cat spirit, a large man who likes to push visitors in the main museum room, " Rob " a gentleman dressed in a top hat, suited with a handlebar moustache is a very active spirit who whistles, sings and is very mischievous with Female guests Rob roams the entire building. "The Holy man" we feel is a Templar/Cistercian Monk, The Stable Master", " William The Cobbler", Residual Black Widow, patrons of the coaching inn and public house and many others have all been seen over the years within the hotel and old stables (which is now the garden).
Things are regularly thrown and moved in the downstairs bar area and the sounds of children giggling along with little footsteps on the landing.

The Hanbury is possible the most haunted location in the country!

The coffins are a part of the building and are visible to this day in the cellar.
The cellar tunnels used to stretch under the road to a large church opposite Hanbury Arms but have now been sealed. Said to be connected to the knights Templar banking system and formerly home to The Odd Fellows Society Hanbury Arms is also very close to the nearby Masonic Hall. The church, Hanbury Arms & the masonic hall are built in a triangle formation at the crossroads just at the edge of town.

Leylines run through the Hanbury making the land The Hanbury sits on pretty magical.

The whole site including the old cellar morgue is extremely haunted. It really takes some courage to check into The Hanbury Arms Haunted Hotel & Museum.

*STAY THE ENTIRE NIGHT WITHIN THE CELLAR ROOM OR THE MAIN MUSEUM ROOM TO RECEIVE YOUR UNIQUE CERTIFICATE *

Our story

I have always been intersted in the paranormal even as a child

watching Hammer house of horror with my Dad and remembering over hearing my Auntie reading out passages from the Amityville story in 1977, being totally fascinated and terrified being only 6 at the time. I had a wondeful childhood sadly my Dad passed away a few years later..

Having quite a few odd experences of the paranormal growing up which confirmed my belief in life after death . losing my first son after only four days my interest in searching for answers grew. Happy times did return and myself and my Mam would often talk about the paranormal . she always said " maybe death isn't as bad as we think maybe life is the hardship and when we die we move on to a better place. If i can i will come back to see you when i pass"
