A little behind the scenes at The Events Emporium ☀️

This was my office for a morning back in June. Not a bad view!

One of the things about running events is that the planning never really stops. Even when I’m away, I’m usually keeping an eye on emails, answering messages, working on layouts or thinking ahead to the next event.

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to bring each market and fair together, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. And I have to admit, event planning with this view and breakfast alongside me wasn’t exactly a hardship!

Calling all vintage lovers, bargain hunters and charity shop treasure seekers!

I’ve been contacted by the team behind BBC One’s Shift the Thrift, presented by Joanna Page, as they are now casting for Series 2.

The programme sees duos go head-to-head on a charity shop hunt, searching out great finds to sell at live auction, with the proceeds going back to charity.

As you know, I’m a big believer in shopping pre-loved, giving things a new lease of life and enjoying the thrill of finding something a little bit special, so this felt like a lovely opportunity to share with The Events Emporium community.

And if anyone from our vintage community ends up taking part, I’d absolutely love to hear about it!

Planning day for Craft & Artisan ✏️📏

A morning spent with graph paper, pencil and ruler, working out stall layouts and making the very best use of our new space in The Barn at Farmer Copleys.

I know there are clever computer programmes that will do all this for me, but I still much prefer doing it the old-fashioned way - pencil, ruler, rubber and plenty of moving things around until it all fits!

At last it’s all beginning to come together and I’m really looking forward to seeing The Barn and The Hayloft filled with our fabulous Craft & Artisan traders.

I’m not currently looking for any new traders, as I already have a substantial waiting list.

✨ A quick update for makers interested in our Festive Craft & Artisan Markets...

Thank you so much for all the enquiries I've received recently about trading at this year's Festive Craft & Artisan Markets at Farmer Copleys.

It's always lovely to hear from talented makers who would like to be part of the events.

The Festive Craft & Artisan Markets have grown over many years thanks to a wonderful community of regular traders who continue to create such a special shopping experience for our visitors.

As all of the trader spaces for this year's events are already spoken for, I'm not accepting any further applications or adding to the waiting list at this time.

Thank you again for your interest in The Events Emporium. Your support really is appreciated and if opportunities arise in the future, I'll always announce them here first.

In the meantime, I'm looking forward to introducing some of the fantastic makers who'll be joining us this November.

From vintage treasures and handcrafted creations to beautiful flowers, seasonal shopping, de-stash bargains and wonderful independent businesses, every event I organise has its own unique atmosphere.

Here's a little look back at some of the moments that make our events so special. It's the traders, the visitors, the conversations, the discoveries and the community that make each event what it is.

Whether you love hunting for vintage finds, meeting talented makers, adding something special to your home or simply enjoying a great day out, I hope there's something here that inspires you.
