It was an honour to be a part of the celebrations for B & R’s vow renewal at the stunning St Elizabeth's House. Even the sun made an appearance ☀️

What a wonderful way to celebrate 25 years of marriage which included exchanging of new rings (one got lost over the years) and the signing of a certificate to commemorate their ongoing commitment to each other ❤️🫶

There were tears and laughter as Hannah led everyone through the journey of their love story and there was a poem written and read by a friend. One of the great joys of being a celebrant is tailoring a bespoke ceremony and involving family and friends in the occasion. Made the day all the more special.

☔️ St Swithin’s Day ☀️
No matter how big or small your wedding day there are many things to organise before you say ‘I do’! Ceremony? Booked! Rings? Booked! Photographer? Booked! Wedding Breakfast? Booked! A cheeky little, or extravagant honeymoon? Booked! But there’s one thing you just can’t book, or guarantee for that matter….the weather! It just cant be predicted. Or can it? 🤔
Today is St. Swithin’s day and the proverb of St Swithin says: “St Swithin’s Day if thou dost rain, for forty days it will remain, St Swithin’s Day if thou be fair, for forty days will rain na mair”
Many hope for a sunny dry day but if it is raining where you are (and it’s been not stop here!) and you are getting married within the next 40 days, here are some ideas to get you started with a weather plan:

☔️ Embrace the rain! Act like you booked it on purpose.

☔️ Use umbrellas and wellies to add to your style! Have some umbrellas on standby for your guests and an extra special one for you both.

☔️ If it looks like it will be cold too, set out some blankets in baskets for your guests and get everyone cuddling up.

☔️ Think about your drinks… would replacing fizz with hot drinks go down well with your guests?

☔️ Speak to your photographer about some creative wedding shots… we can guarantee they’ve been waiting to let their imagination run wild with the right couple!

Most of all….
☔️ Fear not and remember ‘A wet knot is hard to untie’! We love this little saying and believe rainy day weddings are every bit magical.

🐌 Purchase a vintage or pre-loved wedding dress available from bridal boutiques like Bridalreloved in Tavistock, Devon.

🌳 Opt for e-wedding invitations or choose locally made sustainable invitations available from suppliers like Paper Belles in Paignton, Devon

🐟 Use dried flower petals as confetti. You can make your own or source them from local suppliers like Cornish Blooms

Hi there! If you choose us for your special day we will learn a lot about you so I thought it was only fair to tell you some things about me.

I am a mother and a wife. My favourite child is the dog, a bouncy, energetic 5 year old Cockapoo 🐶 who steals the post. I once found a friends card for our wedding 3 months later down the back of the sofa 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m one of those weirdos who loves swimming in the sea all year round, without a wetsuit 🥶 But rest assured I do not wear my Dryrobe to the supermarket!

I love games nights with my friends and family but I’m crap at quizzes. I love watching movies and I think I’ve watched every Christmas movie on Netflix (I know I judge me too!). Life is chaotic and beautiful and I’m so excited to be a part of your story.
