Sarah Leanney Humanist Celebrant

Sarah Leanney Humanist Celebrant Creating bespoke & beautiful Humanist wedding, funeral, baby naming and vow renewal ceremonies. Never settle for ordinary!

Everybody is fantastically unique and everybody deserves to have their major life events celebrated in a way that is entirely personal, joyous, heartfelt and momentous. For me, this is the very essence of Humanism. Making the most of the one life we have, seeking to understand the world through logic, reason, and evidence, and treating those around us with warmth, understanding and respect. Whethe

r it is the joyous celebration of a marriage, the loving remembrance of a life well lived, the festivity of welcoming a new life or the re-affirmation of a couple’s special commitment to one another, I will work directly with you to share your unique story and create a heart-warming and truly memorable occasion in exactly the way you wish. Throughout my previous 20 years in the world of estate agency, I loved learning all about my clients, building close relationships with them, being the steadying hand that guided them through times of stress and providing the best experience possible for them. These professional skills, combined with an outgoing personality and a lively sense of humour, made becoming a Humanist Celebrant a natural choice for me. After having attended Humanist ceremonies, and particularly the wedding of my own daughter, I realised that becoming a Humanist Celebrant would be one of the most rewarding roles I would ever undertake. To be a part of people’s most momentous life events is an honour, and to be able to create and deliver a celebration which is entirely fitting and unique is an absolute privilege. This role enables me to combine my professional approach with a genuine enthusiasm for getting to know people and learning about their amazing lives. When I’m not up to my elbows in a varied range of crafts, I can be found dragging my husband of 33 years on adventures around the country in my campervan, throwing myself into freezing cold water in the hope that it will let me live forever, or laughing like a drain with friends and family.

To help a family say their final goodbye to a loved one is an absolute honour. We said farewell to Mary Fitzpatrick yesterday, who was a much loved Mum and Gran, and will be missed terribly. Her family always joked that Mary showed her love by feeding them, and it's fair to say they never went hungry! ❤️ Many thanks to Natalie, Craig and the team at Co-op Funeralcare and the staff at Falkirk Crematorium.

Pearl Campbell was a very generous lady, but would tell her family there were not quite enough of her favourite chocolates to share though! We listened to the beautiful memories that her family, and most especially her granddaughter, were happy to share as we as we laid Pearl to rest this week. She will always be remembered and she will always be loved ❤️. Many thanks to Lesley and the team at Co-op Funeralcare Livingston and the staff at Linlithgow Cemetery.

Kevin McPake was a deeply sensitive, creative and principled man who embraced everything in life, apart from hate. Music was his greatest passion and this morning his family and friends gathered to say their final goodbyes and listen to some of his favourite songs. In the words of one who loved him..."he was some man for one man" ❤️. Many thanks to Ruth and the team at Co-op Funeralcare Bridge of Allan and the staff at Stirlingshire Crematorium.

To help a family say their final goodbye to a loved one is an absolute honour. We said farewell to Teresa Spiewak this morning, who was a much loved Mum, Gran and sister, and will be missed terribly. Grief is the last act of love we have to give to those we loved. Where there is great grief, there was great love. Many thanks to Arlene and the team at Co-op Funeralcare, Alloa and the staff at Sunnyside Cemetery.

Yesterday could not have been more perfect. The rain behaved itself, allowing these two beautiful souls to celebrate the outdoor wedding of their dreams with the people they love most. It was an honour and a pleasure to get to call Hazel and Andy Mr and Mrs Neilson at the end of it. ❤️ Many thanks to the fabulous staff at Glenbervie House, and the lovely Daniel Sweeney and Connor Blair | Relaxed Scotland Wedding Photographer.
