Sarah Leanney Humanist Celebrant

Sarah Leanney Humanist Celebrant Creating bespoke & beautiful Humanist wedding, funeral, baby naming and vow renewal ceremonies. Never settle for ordinary!

Everybody is fantastically unique and everybody deserves to have their major life events celebrated in a way that is entirely personal, joyous, heartfelt and momentous. For me, this is the very essence of Humanism. Making the most of the one life we have, seeking to understand the world through logic, reason, and evidence, and treating those around us with warmth, understanding and respect. Whethe

r it is the joyous celebration of a marriage, the loving remembrance of a life well lived, the festivity of welcoming a new life or the re-affirmation of a couple’s special commitment to one another, I will work directly with you to share your unique story and create a heart-warming and truly memorable occasion in exactly the way you wish. Throughout my previous 20 years in the world of estate agency, I loved learning all about my clients, building close relationships with them, being the steadying hand that guided them through times of stress and providing the best experience possible for them. These professional skills, combined with an outgoing personality and a lively sense of humour, made becoming a Humanist Celebrant a natural choice for me. After having attended Humanist ceremonies, and particularly the wedding of my own daughter, I realised that becoming a Humanist Celebrant would be one of the most rewarding roles I would ever undertake. To be a part of people’s most momentous life events is an honour, and to be able to create and deliver a celebration which is entirely fitting and unique is an absolute privilege. This role enables me to combine my professional approach with a genuine enthusiasm for getting to know people and learning about their amazing lives. When I’m not up to my elbows in a varied range of crafts, I can be found dragging my husband of 33 years on adventures around the country in my campervan, throwing myself into freezing cold water in the hope that it will let me live forever, or laughing like a drain with friends and family.

The weather must have known how special a day Wednesday was going to be! The sun came out and shone for everybody at the beautiful Glenbervie House, gathered to celebrate Christopher and Madeleine becoming husband and wife. This gorgeous couple began their new life as Mr and Mrs Ogilvie surrounded by the love and laughter of their family and friends. Here's to a lifetime more! ❤️

Michelle Carlin lived her life according to the Marilyn Monroe quote which she once painted above her bed…”imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring”. Yesterday I had the privilege of helping the family and friends of this much-loved lady say goodbye. She will always be in their hearts ❤️. Many thanks to Laura, Lesley and the team at Co-op Funeralcare and the staff at West Lothian Crematorium and Adambrae Cemetery.

Robert Russell’s greatest passion in life was walking. He walked not only for his own pleasure; in his role as a walk leader for several groups in the Stirling area, including Paths For All, he helped and supported the physical, mental and social health of so many other people.
Easy going, funny, generous and always happiest when he was planning how to fill up his next day…..Robert truly was one of a kind ❤️ Many thanks to Arlene and George at Co-op Funeralcare and the staff at Stirlingshire Crematorium.

The 22nd of November 2026 is going to be a belter of a day! I cannot wait to help Kat and Colin step into the next chapter of their lives together as husband and wife. This is going to be a day filled with love and, I suspect, a whole lot of laughter! ❤️

Ina Lewcio loved her garden, especially the stunning dahlias that she grew there. Although she was quiet and unassuming throughout her life, Ina was a special lady whose love and friendship enriched the lives of everyone she knew. It was an honour to help her family and friends say a final goodbye yesterday. Many thanks to George, Arlene and their team at Co-op Funeralcare for their care and professionalism.

Just last year I helped Frances Leask, and her family, say goodbye to her beloved husband. Sadly we were together again yesterday to say our final farewell to Frances herself and to share some wonderful stories about her passion for dancing and cooking. This lovely lady is now at peace with her Ronnie ❤️. Many thanks to Natalie and Craig at Co-op Funeralcare and the staff at Falkirk Crematorium.
