The moment we arrived at Upwaltham barns for our first viewing, we knew this was the venue for us. You immediately felt like you were part of the family, and all the staff genuinely cared about your wedding experience. From the wine tasting session with Steve, to the experience evening with other couples sampling the venue all dressed, with a full meal and canapés to the day itself, we felt cared for and made to feel extremely special. All of ours guest commented about how smooth the day was along with impecable service and how it was ‘the best food they’d ever had at a wedding’. We can’t thank the Nicola, Kate, Ann and the team enough. We certainly will never forget our wedding at Upwaltham barns!

A beautiful tradition 🤍
Before their civil ceremony in the East Barn, Charmaine & Chris held a traditional Chinese tea ceremony with their families in Jasmine Cottage.
The tea ceremony is an important part of many Chinese weddings, symbolising respect and gratitude towards parents and elders, while bringing the two families together as part of the wedding celebrations. Tea is traditionally served to family members, who may offer blessings, well wishes and gifts in return.
We love seeing couples bring their own traditions to Upwaltham and make the day completely personal to them.
A very special start to the celebrations before heading to the East Barn to say ‘I do’.

Early evening light on the hill is hard to beat 🤍
Long grasses, views across the South Downs and that beautiful soft summer light make it one of our favourite places to sneak away with your photographer for a few portraits after dinner.
Just a short walk from the barns, and always worth it when the light looks like this.
